Why are old digital cameras so trendy all the sudden?
>>109460871They're cheap, nostalgic to zoomers, and don't run the pictures through ten layers of sloppification.
retrofags
>>109460871decent optics
>>109460871people realizing smartphones cameras are a meme
>>109461948Smarpthone cams are better in terms of results but their photos aren't real. Sharpening and blurring done using algorithms to the point what you get is a probabilistic reconstruction of what you saw in front of you. Those point and shoots were terrible but they made real photos
>>109460871Because fuckers at Japan charge $9000 for a brand new camera

>>109460871Idk, I bought a new mirrorless Sony camera. Maybe you are confusing them with old point and shoots?
>>109460871I'm trying to make one work but I don't have a specific battery for it since it's phased out. I tried to use my 18650 batteries for 7.4V the same voltage at its proprietary battery but it still won't turn on. I probably need some specific resistor.

>>109460871Fidelity gets to a point where details just look ugly. Photos should have blur, it should be mystical like memories.I have perfect vision and can see a pimple on someones face from across a room, People with glasses purposely get slightly imperfect prescriptions because details are gross.I think lo-fi isn't a fad, it's a lindy human behavior. People want romantic images of people. Old vintage cameras perfectly capture all we want from a photo and nothing more. Advanced digital cameras add too much and remove the essentials.
>>109465055they all have decent optics
this:https://desuarchive.org/g/thread/109303986shit is casio z120 level
>>109460871When people take a picture they like it to be the thing they actually photographed, not overprocessed ai slop
>>109465094>100% digital camera with no viewfinderI could imagine the lag already.
>>109465114zero lag, it films 60 FPS
>>109461103>>109462210This, but I also hope it has something to do with people realizing smart phones were a mistake.>nostalgic to zoomersA dichotomy in tech that has always mattered to me is would you rather have one device that attempts to do everything or several devices for specific purposes. The latter is what I always interpreted "the future you were promised" is about (beyond just the aesthetic and privacy concerns).I still remember downloading Vevo rips to my iPod and playing my Nintendo 3DS on the bus to school.
>>109465243Well the zooms who dont care about trends buy them to get out of their smartphone addiction if that counts.
just better optics, can photo in dark club
Point and Shoots in general are having a bit of a resurgence. They are bringing out old models because they never made new ones. The stagnation of the last 20 years has been incredible. They just tweaked some to add usb-c. There are new point and shoots that are doing fine although they tend to be retro styled like the GR IV.
>>109460871Trendy where? Just because some algorithm pushing retards using digital cameras does not make it trendy.
>https://desuarchive.org/g/thread/109303986the only camera for fair price
>>109461103also won't scan your images for whatever purpose

>>109460871> having to work around flaws in older cameras = soul> using modern cameras with no flaws = soullesshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulkqXvek5fA
