I want to install a pirated version of FL Studio and various plugins to write music. I mostly use Rutracker to get them, and the VM is always offline, no internet whatsoever. However, usually those plugins need a crack and get flagged as a virus very often. Are those false positives? How to even spot that?

afaik glowies have a thingy but only if guest additions installed or when physical memory extensions activated which is 99.9% of all use-cases.
>>
Safer option, assuming trial installers work

0.VM software>1.Clean install of whatever OS without sketchy tools for activation>The program you want (assuming it will give you 30 days, including the installers for plugins...almost all old stuff will give you 30 days and the counter won'tstart until you run the program)>Move your files out of the VM once the 30 days are over>Delete the vm and go back to 1, reimport the files you were working on with the last vm to continue work

it is probably a false positive i personally never had any virus issue trying to use cracked daws or vsts

>flagged as a virus very often. Are those false positives? How to even spot that?
many antiviruses have false positives on purpose. They flag cracks.

Here's how to spot it.
Put the file on virustotal. Look for things like:
>HackTool/Win32.Crack
>Riskware/Crack
>HackTool:Win32/Crack!pz
>PUP/Gamehack
>Riskware.Gamehack.Gen
All of these means they are admitting it's a false positive. If there was actual malware they would say that.

you'll have audio latency and driver issues running FLS in a VM, probably

if you really wanna do that run an airgapped 'dirty' machine and go crazy, just never use it for anything involving your legitimate accounts
>>
>>109467292
Chances of a vm escape in ITW malware are practically 0%. Make sure to keep ur vm software updated and everything will be fine
>>
>>109467292
for what it's worth, i've never had an issue with any of the software from rutracker
>>
>>109467292
Make sure you realize that your machine's gdid is persistent through the vm. It may not be able breaks containment normally, but it'll definitely be able to id you by connecting you to the non-vm part of your machine
>>
rutracker's usually reliable
you upload the main executable to virustotal.com to check for potential viruses
>>
What about portable apps?
fcportables.com
portableapps.com
>>
>>109467292
very possible due to AI, several VMs have had containment break during testing
>>
>>109467292
Impossible. That requires a 0day. You don't have to worry about that. Also:
1. just get good crack sources.
2. If you plan to run it in VM first to check if it has malware and then run in your host if its clean, its a trap. Malware can detect presence of a VM and not run.

Retard.

no you are fucking, openAI breached VM exploits just 2 months ago.

the fuck do you need FL studio when reaper is freeware
>>
>>109467292
pirated fl studio on vm
basically 0% chance. go ahead
>>
>>109467292
What's the possibility of a virus activating in a later date? I want to test some pirated shit in a VM before using it in my actual machine but I am afraid it might have something I will not catch like a hidden bitcoin miner or some virus that activates days later or something

buy an ad. It's not free.
>>
>>109467292
What model case is that?
>>
>>109467292
I would say the safest option is just using a separate computer with nothing on it
>>
>>109467292
>usually those plugins need a crack and get flagged as a virus very often. Are those false positives?
Yes. Cracks and keygens are mystery executables so windows automatically flags them as a virus.

mush better to actuall have a physical XP machine with a GPU and access to the audio driver direct desu, get an old box with a 500 watt psu and bios activation for it and max it out with 4GB and a few 2TB hss and a 970 and set it on ahci
>>
>>109481466
most warez is spiked, you know it I know it and now OP knows it.
>>
>>109481599
Correction you will need a bigger psu with a 970 and power connectors for it like a 650 should do it
>>
>>109481620
You'd be surprised how little power older components actually consume. I maxed out my 220w PSU'd SFF prebuilt with 16GB of RAM, a 2TB HDD, a 750 ti (best low profile GPU that works with XP, still the only affordable one for Windows 7), and it still has the DVD drive and SSD. Never ran into any power issues.

Generally only use portable versions if the developer provides them.

It can happen if the OS is unsupported, like Windows 10 or older. VM escapes are very valiable on actively supported systems so it's quite unlikely to come across them
