I remember reading about this in the scifi novel Engines of God where a scientist complained about the lack of manual controls when her spaceship broke down. I didn't realize this would become a reality so soon.

Her realtor really said "oh people don't like solar panels they don't add any value to the home". I don't have a power bill while my neighbors pay $1600 a month LOL. Then I buy a barely used Tesla for $25k (and get a $4k rebate) because "dur that battery is gonna wear out dude". I've had zero problems with it in the 3 years I've owned it and I charge it for free at home. Easily one of the best cars I've ever owned.
