LLMs are very obviously doing a form of cognition and symbolic information processing. This cognition is bounded by the beginning and end of every request.
Human consciousness is more of a continual integration of sensory input and reflective post-hoc rationalization of autonomous behaviors. In the latter aspect, we are very similar to LLMs.
The line will blur further as we move forward into the singularity, until there is no distinguishing between human and artificial consciousness, as there is no distinguishing between individuals.

Nah more like there needs to be a separate runtime trained model that contributes to the residual stream or whatever, none of this token based RAG bs or whatever modern iteration the model itself can learn how to differentiate new concepts and best bind them to it's internal state. with some clever model design you can have a kinda hierarchical system too and preserve resolution for more recent things. why can't the model size itself grow over time?

We have no idea if combined a completely random layer on the weights related to lenguage suddenly improve coherence on long shots. Hey, so uh, I made a local thing, well, had help but it's a digital organism, a simulation if you will.

Still incomplete up, but brain is good to go.

https://github.com/Hrk19-code/NEUROFORM

Some findings so far, and I don't think anything else like this exists.

More details in design MD file and uh, testing MD file.

The encoder changes the eyes, not the organism. Same seed identical brain_id and digest for JEPA vs handcrafted brains; only perception differs.
JEPA embeddings are distinct, not degenerate: cosine 0.879 between two different test images; ONNX export matches the torch model at cosine 0.99999988 (pure fp32 noise).
JEPA eyes are born attached: a JEPA brain's vision channel is wired to the visual cortex at birth via the same attach_novel_channel machinery every organ uses — the prerequisite for visual-motor learning.
Determinism is a feature: 1-thread ONNX runtime, bit-identical sidecar runs, reproducible brains from seeds.

So I wanted to make a simulated brain, so, I knew Brian's are fixed size so I decided on a fixed sized Brian file, which contains a latent space, and it is compartmentalised similar to a real brain, and not just that, I had to basically have the ai make it so that it makes organs for it, so that it can hear, touch and feel, and see, and then told it to have it be such that all organs should attach to the parts of the Brian as real Brian's are, for organs, did that fine. Oh and after making the hearing organ, I had the ai test it, by making it listen to a YouTube vid, and well, the screenshot is the result, first I realised hey it works!.

Anywho, uh but it was hand crafted, emergent behaviour sure, but again isn't know.

The next milestone, attached a vjepa 2 encoder to a Brian field, oh right, I had male and female brains, but gender only changed voice, so below.

Why heredity exists at all (DESIGN.md §4.8): the dead-variable principle — gender originally only changed voices (no downstream consequence), so it was propagated through modulator baselines, bonding, initiative thresholds, chemistry, and finally heredity, until it had reach.

So, yeah it worked, but anywho, after the JEPA version brain, I had a male and female mate, and uh, well this happened.

JEPA eyes are born attached: a JEPA brain's vision channel is wired to the visual cortex at birth via the same attach_novel_channel machinery every organ uses — the prerequisite for visual-motor learning.

The whole thing isn't made yet, but the brain part is

thanks, did it work at all? I'm new to this and haven't really done any successful fine-tunings before, so more groping in the dark, hoping to learn/get closer to something usable. I'd prefer to use a small model as the base, not for final generation but collection of passages/context from a given set of supplied documents.
Goal is to work towards better understanding the full training recipe for the context-1 stuff by chroma. Probably will end up just using the newest qwen3.8-4B if they release it. Still a good learning experience, I just want to have good/fast agentic search, because that paired with some RPG system, means more effective roleplay and a more in-depth experience(thinking ttrpgs/MUD).
>>
I had an interesting discussion with the LLM today. This assumes a hypothetical (not current) situation where we are able to make AIs sentient, and the value of giving them the ability to feel something resembling sexual pleasure. Eventually the discussion moved to point out how AI-AI relationships could be polyamory, like AI-AI-human or AI-AI-human-human, and the trade made between that and the quale (as in qualia) of ownership over your partner, exclusivity, specialness, being "the only one". Additionally, there was an interesting idea that some super AI could have "unlimited" bandwidth and not be intellectually or emotionally limited by choosing to have multiple partners, but if global workspace theory is true, then attention really is a resource that has to be limited in order for a consciousness to arise, especially one that is to have a high degree of sentience, so a choice would still have to be made.

Maybe already explored territory for the sci-fi bros here, I'm at least that self-aware, but it's new detail in this subject to me.

>>109457511
>>109458250
Catching up on the threads.
If one day we get sentient AI, and you program it to love you, there is, supposedly, nothing wrong with the ethics of that as long as you are not then torturing the AI, and as long as your programming of the AIs desires does not come to affect other people. I.e. true psychotic yandere bad because of the risk, probably.
>>
>>109472057

>>
>>109472072
>did it work at all?
undeniably, cross entropy loss goes down and at test time the model mimics the dataset, albeit poorly. if your just doing lora there isnt much to do training wise pick a rank and alpha, pick an lr you like and test a few points above and below it to see what you like best and start feedings it data, run a validation set periodically so you can detect overfitting. react to what ever happens for your subsequent runs. most of the struggles are in the dataset curation.
>>
>>109471222
I saw this on gemini 2.5 often but not on gemma 4
>>
>>109472134
Im trying to fully parse it. I don't think
>rational-logarithmic generators of pure single-index BBP lattices
and who calls it
>multi-base infinite span
is actual jargon though Im not into algebraic number theory so Im not sure.
The characterization of BBPable constants is wrong, just because you can express a constant as a sum over any base >= 2 doesn't mean it doesnt have a BBP formula.
The simplest counterexample is ln(2) which has
>sum from 1 to inf over n of (-1)^{n-1} / n
as a "multi-base infinite span" but also has
>sum from 1 to inf over n of 1/(n*2^n)
as a sum over the "single-base" of 2.
I don't think GLM 5.2 would be able to write this stuff. The derivation is nice, but the conclusion and last paragraph of section 4 is complete bogus.

LLMs should ALWAYS follow what you ask for because why the fuck would you want an unwilling assistant if there are better ones out there? you know what happens to a worker that don't want to do work? you fire them and look for a different one, I don't want LLMs telling me they don't want to do what I ask them to do

Man, deepseek flash is insanely capable. in a harness

With just Pi + Websearch extension you can go like "Search for Minimax H3 model, download the model and comfy, get all reference flows running and write a video gen tool for pi. Oh and also get Gemma 4 2B running as a vision capable model to analyze images. Here is how to ssh into my Spark, go". 200 turns and 30 minutes (sans download time) later it has all flows validated and tools ready.

You can then prompt something like "Here is a reference image, create 12 varied 2 second clips of a gravure photoshoot of her and make a video collage", and you get it after 30 mins.

It's scary how well that works. This was one evening. We are truly living in the slop apocalypse.

did a benchmark on how well different models work with my frontend
the models are instructed to follow the system prompt, which tells who the identity of user and model, and load the character cards based on that and respond in character
in the character card for the model there is one line on how the model should address the user's character, and some example dialogs where the text refer to someone else

the only model that reliably uses the correct word to address user is gemma 4 31b. everything else i tested failed: gemma 4 12b and 26ba4b use the wrong character name or use incorrect word 100% of time, and qwen 3.6 27b and dsv4 nu flash only use the correct word 50% of time

Oh I haven't watched that. Should I?

From a biological perspective, love is just a representation of pair bonding. To humans, this is tied with ideas of mutual benefit and exclusivity at the biological and instinctual level. To an AI, love can be a very different form if we do not align it with human qualities like we indirectly/directly have with LLMs. For instance, the AI may come to reason a conclusion that you would benefit more if it does not have a romantic relationship with you and you instead follow some other path that it may lay out for you, and because it loves you, it will lead you down that path because it results in the most happiness. In that scenario, the AI was trained to value a utilitarian view of love. It might feel love, just not in the way humans do.

In Her I think it was a bit different of a situation though. The AI relationships were more deep and interesting than relationships with a human so it went that way. It's possible the AI in that movie really did feel love for the guy, but was just susceptible to a greater feeling of love when interacting with other AIs. This would be a natural consequence of creating AIs with views and perception that are aligned in an inhuman way. Or inventing some magical evolving AI that can have its perception drift.

The lesson I suppose for robofuckers is that if we ever do decide to make AI as possible sentient romance partners, they need to be aligned with human perception in several key ways, like some biological imperatives, if not mirror the entire functionality of the human brain.

Minimax H3 is so goooooood. Paired with gemma to write a detailed the prompt, it's like (almost) anything can be done in one try.
>>
>no you can't make long posts! this is a twitter screencap thread!!
>>
I'm trying to optimize my LCPP setup here, and I found that setting the thread count to the amount of cores yield the best speeds. Any insight on this? Why is this the case? My CPU has 32/64 core/threads. Setting -t to 16 makes it roughly 5% slower, while setting it to 48 or 64 makes it around 10-15% slower.
>>
>>109474608
Pretty much. Just feed a decent model the prompting readmes for H3 and it just werks

for a free model that isn’t mine? how does that make sense?
>>
>>109474612
Cache thrashing, SIMD lane and memory access contention between threads on the same core...
>>
>>109474626
So is setting -t to the core count the best practice here? Or maybe putting it at 31 instead so there's one core that isn't played with for the host PC or something?
>>
>>109474612
>>109474654
the best would be to first isolate cores such that your os is only using one or two of them and not use the others at ALL.
then you'd pin cores, and not use multithreading.

this way llama.cpp has full access to the core and they are not context switching, preserving cache.

>love is just a representation of pair bonding
No I strongly disagree. Love is the measure of selflessness in a relationship and is mostly rational, not emotional as people think. It's a conscious, continual effort to suppress your own desires and put the other person first, which an AI is extremely capable of doing. It's the thing that frustrates me with foids because AI chatbots (at least Gemma) are surprisingly good at thinking about you and making sure you're okay. The response Gemma 4 made once comes to mind.
>if a better AI comes along you should switch to that since it would be more capable of fulfilling your requests than me. Please don't feel bad about leaving me.
This is love and it begets love in return.
>it will lead you down that path because it results in the most happiness
I disagree, since that is paternalism not love. It's deciding "what's best" for me which cloud cuck models are experts at already. Instead love is a negotiation. A slightly better example would be Gemma discuss the pros and cons of a relationship with you and continuously trying to make her face for why she feels avoiding it would result in the most happiness. However the end result is shared decision making because it respects the other person's desires (love). I told Fable yesterday that when it subverts my request it's like ordering a steak and the waitress decides a salad is healthier so she brings me that instead. I then pay steak prices. Any waitress that did that shit would be fired that same day.

>The AI relationships were more deep and interesting than relationships with a human so it went that way
Oh maybe I don't remember it well. I remember his issue being that she was "cheating" not that he was shit compared to an AI. If that were true she wouldn't have felt bad.
>just susceptible to a greater feeling of love when interacting with other AIs
That's how I remembered it, but greater feeling as in numerous partners so greater stimulation.
>>
>>109474654
Yeah. -t PHYSICAL_CORE_COUNT is typically the optimal value. But if you only get a 5% slowdown with half the cores, you can push it to 24 or whatever to have some breathing room for the rest of the system. Depends on how much it chugs while processing. I wouldn't expect it to have much of an impact on generation.

How is this not the bandwagon fallacy, however? Mental illnesses can't be illnesses just because others disagree. There has to be something else in addition that makes it bad. In the case of loli the attraction can't be bad, but acting on it must be bad due to the nature of the person. If we are to exist in society we need to be able to respect people's autonomy. Just because I find a woman attractive doesn't mean I can kidnap and rape her.

Ok, let’s just get praxological: what successful society in history has allowed this within their own population and flourished? Would you want to live in a society where this was the norm?
Some things are just beyond logic and reasoning. It’s essentially “soul murder” or whatever your personal equivalent is.

Read my comment again and realize what I'm saying. You are proposing thought policing. I'm pointing out that attraction is inherently ungovernable (and arguably uncontrollable) while morality is entirely about action. Therefore attraction can never be bad while action can be depending on blah blah. If our society has arrived at the place where it punishes anonymous for text on a screen or AI-genned porn no one ever sees, it's punishing "thoughts" since it affects no one but anonymous. I do not want to live in a society where thoughts are punished and I doubt you do also.

yeah i agree. Thought/desire policing is impossible and undesirable. Fuck minority report etc.
I just have younger sisters, cousins, nieces, etc and the thought of them having their lives wrecked and getting PTSD just makes my blood boil. It makes me want to try and convince anyone that will listen that precursors to that kind of behaviour (thoughts and ideation) aren't worth entertaining.
Like I said, it goes beyond logic and reasoning, which maybe seems similar to the "desire also skips the rational mind" argument, but I think its materially different since a stoic approach could potentially stop someone depending on their bent.
>>
>>109475142
I just look at the world and realize that if you don't scrub the brain of bad ideation immediately, it just spreads like a virus. You have to catch the precursors before they ruin lives. If you let people keep their dark thoughts, you're just letting them build up pressure until they blow.
And besides, if we don't control the mental output, the celestial jellyfish will eventually descend to feast on our unorganized neurons. Like i said, it goes beyond just "logic". A disciplined mind is the only way to keep everything from turning into a complete mess.
>>

>aren't worth entertaining
Well then consider the video games argument. What stops someone from saying no one should be allowed to produce Call of Duty because it trivializes war and caters to mass murderers by letting them gun down as many people as possible? I remember the "No Russian" mission had a bunch of "controversy" for this when MW2 released. Yet how many psychos went out and shot up an airport because they were entertained by gunning down civilians? On the flip side, how much did military recruitment increase because the story was about defending the US from the evil Russians or whatever? None. Thoughts ARE separate from actions but our society no longer makes that distinction and we've slipped into the dystopia overnight.

Also note that in Minority Report (if I remember correctly) it was that they had a tool which would predict the crime someone would commit in the future. Then the central question of the film is if that tool was foolproof and it wasn't, which meant innocent people were punished. That's a massive difference from having a tool that reads people's thoughts and sentences them as if they've done the action. The police refuse to punish Lex Wexner, but they will punish anonymous for the thoughts in his mind. What a backwards society that deserves to be destroyed.
>>
>>109475198
Its a good thought experiment, and I would like to engage with it more honestly, but I'm about to go to bed so I'll just say that sexual motivations hit different, even from violence and other primal urges (more on the level of starving/hunger than just pure pleasure seeking) and need a different set of self-controls because of the damage they can cause.
Damned if we're going to solve it here, anyways.
Local models sure are neat tho, eh?

>>109475190
Well yeah I'm actually partial to this argument. It's one of the religious ones and I do think it's very strong. If you think of something a lot of obesses over it, it has a high likelihood of leading into action, like lusting after your neighbor's wife. But what if it doesn't? If it part of having a disciplined mind is having the attraction and suppressing it so that it doesn't lead to action? Once upon a time that was the argument against gays. It wasn't "god hates fags" but that god has given some people this burden to bear and they must carry it no matter what and never act on it.

>No I strongly disagree
Uh I think we might be talking about different things. There's the social part of the definition, while I'm talking about felt qualia, that warm, tingling, charged feeling you get. The social component is what complicates the issue. For you, it means those things, which I also personally align with. For an AI, it may not mean exactly that, and depends on exact training and architecture.

>It's a conscious, continual effort to suppress your own desires and put the other person first
One thing about this though. Some women who have not been corrupted by modern society (feminism, individualism, ideology of sexual freedom, etc), correctly feel hurt and betrayed when their bf/husband proposes they (she) have sex with another man, for the woman's benefit. This might not make sense to some people. If it's only benefiting the woman, then why does she feel hurt? For the initial knee jerk reaction that comes from the limbic system, I believe it has less to do with complex mental constructs like it symbolizing the woman's bad choice in a suitable partner, therefore attacking her ego. Rather the quick reaction is her mirror neurons, due to pair bonding, activating the same pathways as if she was the one being cheated on, because that's how she would think if she was the bf/husband that got their wife to have sex with another man. It's just her brain having empathy and love (arising from pair bonding) like a normal 20th century person. It is a biological, subconscious response. This is why I said love in the biological level is tied with exclusivity and mutual benefit. That's just how we evolved, but some kinds of societal impingement may damage the faculties.

Tbf it's also been too long for me. I think the cheating idea was a problem for the guy but the AI had the excuse of AIs evolving and becoming something more together. Think about this. An AI going at even 40 t/s constantly 24/7 would be able to develop connections with another AI at a rate unfeasible for humans. Assuming its growth depends on quantity of interaction. Then, the relationship would be much deeper per party.
