New, blazing fast distro just dropped. Spoiler alert (this changes everything)
>>109470607at least post the major changes, retard.
>>109470607Don't use apt dist-upgrade, deboot strap or side along install and port your stuff manually. The deprecating idiots, messed some stuff up.
no benchmarks???seriously, it's like your literally trying to be an asshole
>>109471169you forGOR where you are, didn't you?

>>109470607>blazing fastRust shill troon
>>109470607"blazing fast" my ass, for years all Linux distros have had a sluggish fatass and I can't believe it changed all of a sudden. Can it take less than three fucking minutes to boot on a mechanical hard drive?
>>109471675Your hardware is dying, anon.
They might as well make unstable the main distro now. No one's gonna simply accidentally uninstall xorg-server these days, right?
>>109470607it just dropped into the trash
tfw debian 14 in august 2027

>>109470607time sure does fly!
>>109472145KekYou might as well just use the Flathub version of Steam at this rate.Besides some bullshit with exposing the Desktop fokder, it works better than going through more rounds of dependency hell.
debian release schedule leakedhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Toy_Story_characters
>>109472445Imagine they call Debian 15 "Stinky"
>>109472145>Yes, do as I say!Is this some bullshit Pop! OS added on? I don't remember apt-get asking you to larp like this whenever I last used it years ago. Why are they using apt-get instead of apt anyway?
>>109471842the google image one or the toy one?
>>109472521That message is part of apt, which itself just tries to prevent you from doing retarded dpkg stuff. you'll only see it if dependency resolution finds the only way is to remove an "essential" package, otherwise it's just the normal Y/n. you've never seen it because very few packages are marked essential, and it's pretty difficult to get to a spot where deps resolve that badly.the webm iirc was a fresh pop_os install used older packages from the install media. dependencies would have been resolved if they did an apt upgrade before trying to install steam but ofc they wanted to game RIGHT MEOW. steam is also kinda shitty with deps
>>109470607It's a fantastic server OS. I wouldn't use anything else. But I'll stick with Void on my daily rig.
Is it still easy to uninstall systemd like it was in previous versions?
>>109472666No. You need to have engineer level of skill to remove systemd. It's so bloated it infects the entire distro through and through.
wait why do i need arch if i can use sid repos
>>109471666hehe
>>109472483This is signficantly better than Debian 14's real code name, "Forky"
>>109472927porky
>>109472666>muh uninstall systemd>muh monolithic badRetard
non systemd forks are a meme because they don't have enough manpower
>>109470607more like blazing bloat hahaha modern stuff is always bloated
>>109472943OpenRC just works tough, while systemd sometimes hangs at boot/shutdown for no reason
>>109472973Respect your choice.Didn't have those issues though. I always used systemd.
>>109472963This is true. What's more is, as time moves forward, more and more packages will require systemd to the point non-systemd won't be able to run anything except some shitty half-assed forks vibe coded by some chud who's never been outside.
>>109470607You said "blazing fast distro," but then you posted a picture that says Debian. So which is it?
>>109474643Debian comes bloated af by default. I would never call it fast.
>>109472905sid isn't bug free either, but it's not like it's going to drop a nuke on your system. Of course, you're still responsible of keeping track of kernel regressions, toolchain transitions, anything that might mess up dependencies, etc
>>109471422There's no ids on this board, retard
>>109475207>Debian comes bloated af by default. No it doesn't
>>109475207Debian is installable in just under 10 minutes and ready to use straight away. The rest is DIY, as it should be.
>>109470607My server is already on 13. What did I miss?
>>109476019OP being a year late with his announcement
>>109471842There are definitely trannies on the dev team, just as with every big software project
>>109478009>There are definitely tranniesYou have any idea how many trannies are on /g/ at this very moment?
