>>109472521That message is part of apt, which itself just tries to prevent you from doing retarded dpkg stuff. you'll only see it if dependency resolution finds the only way is to remove an "essential" package, otherwise it's just the normal Y/n. you've never seen it because very few packages are marked essential, and it's pretty difficult to get to a spot where deps resolve that badly.the webm iirc was a fresh pop_os install used older packages from the install media. dependencies would have been resolved if they did an apt upgrade before trying to install steam but ofc they wanted to game RIGHT MEOW. steam is also kinda shitty with deps
