Kavish has a great point. If employers banned AI usage, the employees would be miserable.
>>
>>109471886
Not me.
>>
>>109471886
Oh no jeets would have to actually code what a disaster
>>
>>109471886
does this guy think there isn't anyone who doesn't run to chatgpt every five minutes to think for them?
the last time i used AI (software engineer btw) is when DALL-E came out in like 2021
>>
>>109471886
This is bait, no one's this retarded.
>>
>>109471886
>unironically cares about a ban
>>
>>109471909
also AI only came around a couple years ago. I remember working without it. it wasn't that bad

and no one is saying turn it off completely theyre just sick of companies shoving it down your throat in the most retarded way.

if its so useful then just shut up and let people use it. why does this apparently unstoppable innovative new tech need constant boosting and sucking off?
>>
I could but they'd have to pay me at least like thrice as much if they want the same output as before.
>>
>>109471886
AI took away our affordable hardware.
Fuck AI. Stop giving money to AI companies.
>>
>>109471886
Yes actually. I haven't even genned slop porn since Tensor Art cucked itself about a year ago because I'm too lazy to look for another online generator.

Sadly I don't think I can make much on my poorfag PC with 4 GB of VRAM.
>>
>>109471886
The only use of AI is to generate boilerplate and to undress foids. They've censored tf from doing one of those.
And if AI didn't exist, I would just do the other manually using Google search like how I used to do. Just ask double the time I guess. In fact that's a compromise I'm willing to take, no AI and double the time and four times the pay.
>B-but muh coding tools
They're so expensive and things you cab do with free credit so limited that I don't use them anyways.
>>
>>109471886
The only AI I use is with search.
The only reason I use AI search is because around 2013, the major search engines turned their search into shit.
They did it to keep you on their search engine site and serve ads.
Since AI search keeps you on their site, they are now competing hard to make their AI search suck less.
It still sucks, a 2012 image search is still superior to what we have now, but it sucks less than 2020.
>>
>>109471886
I only use AI as a glorified search engine, and I only do that because google ruined their search engine years ago. It would be trivial to remove it from my life. I’m not brown.
>>
>>109472761
I do the same because we use sharepoint and its search is completely useless
>>
>>109471886
>If employers banned AI usage, the employees would be miserable

I can still code by my hands and do google searches, so I can work and live peacefully without AI for the rest of my life.

Is anyone so degraded that they can't do anything without AI?
>>
>>109471886
>Literally the only people who exist are people with programming jobs
I am so fucking delighted every single day that you arrogant typists who can't even end a cable are having your cult of superiority ruined forever.

Seriously?

I used AI ONCE in my entire professional life time and that was to calculate a quartic formula that delivers a set of y for an input set of x1 and x2. Never could have done that by hand. Never again used AI for anything. Everything is hand coded, AI doesn't even understand what I'm doing because nothing of what I'm doing is in the dataset.

Everyone who believes they *need* AI beyond entertainment purposes and pure number crunching is a brain dead zombie which I started to delete from my circle of trust a long time ago.

If you were let go because of AI, it means you never added anything of value to the project. If what you were doing was in the dataset, all you did was re-inventing the wheel every day.
>>
I try to keep up with the latest meme because my manager recently became a pro-ai nutjob, but it's total crap and I don't use it for anything. I don't use it to chat/ideate, absolutely not for programming or looking up docs. It just can't get even basic things right. Claude is the least bad but still terrible.
>>
>>109476480
>If you were let go because of AI, it means you never added anything of value to the project.
This part I'll disagree with. To be clear, not my case, but management is pants on head retarded and will let go people 'because of AI' then see everything crash and burn around them and just pay a consultancy to 'make the AI more gooder' instead of hiring humans again.
>>
>>109471886
what's incomprehensible to me, is that this guy thinks it's incomprehensible that people aren't using it
I guess that was true of TV at some point, every household has one or you're some kind of fucking weirdo, or amish

AI is utterly pointless for what I do, it can only churn out workslop that requires more time to fix than doing everything myself from the start.
>>
>>109476559
At least TV has always been for entertainment purposes, AI is being portrayed as a magic faery that makes you 100x more productive and it's like going back to writing straight binary if you don't use it.
>>
>>109471886
I love when AI bros are completely delusional about AI usage by the average person

Pretty much everyone in my industry uses copilot to summarise and respond to email chains now
>>
>>109471886
I get through an entire workday without ai.
>>
>>109471886
> If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you >still get through an entire workday
>without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other
>Al tool?
Of course I could.
If you’re that dumb that less than a year of useful (in limited circumstances) AI made your brain deteriorate that much that you can’t work without it anymore, you deserve to become a homeless bum, living off the street.
>>
>>109471886
It's not possible to actually ban. I still don't plan on using it in my daily life or have any real reason to. I get paid, I buy my groceries, I go out and play games for entertainment, people in town are cool enough to be social around normally. It really has no place in my life other than a data-optimization gimmick. Is that why people's daily lives are systematically made harder? Living broke and fighting with people you know is pretty miserable.
>>
I will never go back to writing code manually lol

I worked in industry for 6 years before LLMs were even remotely useful, and only in the past 2 have they been viable. So yes.
>>
That's true. Lots of people who shouldn't be using it use it anyways. And there have been attacks on the major providers where things like accurate medical information has been extracted before. There are doctors, nurses, data entry clerks who don't give a shit about data privacy laws and don't give a fuck about you who will mindlessly paste your private information into ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, to save themselves time because they care more about themselves than you, your privacy, your health, or your family. Harsh, but true.
>>
>>109471955
He's right. These days I work from home, tell the AI what to do and watch anime while it does the work. Im not going to give that up.
>>
>>109471886
>Imagine Al was suddenly banned. Would you actually be willing to give it
up?
yes
>>
>>109471998
>why does this apparently unstoppable innovative new tech need constant boosting and sucking off?
Because it's not making enough money yet, and that's what actually matters to the people in charge and their shills.
>>
>>109471905
Well, yes. Jeets coding is a disaster.
>>
>>109479378
I long for the day where jeets can be replayed by gay eye, unfortunately such a day is a few decades away at current rates of "progress".

>>109471886
I like how this jeet projects his own imcompetence and fears onto others.
>>
>>109471886
In answer to that question, yes. When it comes to work and leasure I cando with any kind of AI shit. Shitty AI slop reports and docs are just too fucking---obvious. When I work and what I produce is of a higher standard than anything an algorithm can regurgitate.
