Almost all over the rovers on Mars use VxWorks. The only exception was Ingenuity, a helicopter that ran Linux, but it died long ago. So Mars is the world you want to be on.

Its license made it inevitable for the server market years ago and will make it inevitable for pretty much any device on earth in the future. Licensing costs and development are expensive. Thats why proprietary software will die out for anything but some normie facing applications and videogames (-engines). This is also why hardware attestation is pushed so hard, otherwise the majority of users would soon be in control of their devices instead of the easily controlled big tech. Can't have that.
