oh dear i just would hate for china to get my heckin data because uh... well my government told me propaganda about heckin china... its better if the us spies on me!chinese made product... no this just wont do i need heckin us made backdoors
>>109475234The absolute state of chink shills.
>>109475162the biggest hack ""china"" did was still salt typhoon, which subverted lawful intercept infrastructureeverything is backdoored by design
>>109475162>(((researchers say)))
This article is useless, but the writeup by the researchers is interesting. They didn't disclose this because it wasn't some unintentional bug, but a deliberately written fake kworker script. If you have shell access you can just disable it though, but you'll have to trust the rest of the image to be safe. I doubt they would make multiple such backdoors, so maybe the devil you know in this case makes it a safer choice than other brands where the backdoor isn't known.
>>109475162they all have backdoors even if just for servicing
Do /g/ anons really use non-OpenWRT routers?
>>109475162Has anyone checked the early life sections of those researchers yet?
>>109476945>implying everybody has a Wikipedia article
>>109475234china is not sending their best folkslook at captain ching chong here, he thought a post this obvious would fly unnoticed on a place like 4chan
>>109475162b-b-but retards here said orange man wrong? do you mean to tell me.. chinese tech is always backdoored to the chinese?
>>109475234Least obvious CCP agent.
>>109475162The choice is to be spied on by commies with a chinese router or to be spied on by pedophiles with an american router I guess.Wouldn't it be nice if both countries nuked each other?
>>109476920/g/ is ultimately a bunch of normies who picked something else and think they are experts because of it>the sbc arm shitbox router on the store shelf is bad but THIS sbc arm shitbox router is BETTER
>>109475234>only the communists will use the back door and won't immediately sell access to anyone with $$$$$
>>109475162Is anyone else feeling reminded of the NSA throwaway gag in the Simpsons movie?>WE FINALLY GOT ONE OOOOOOOHHH YEAAAAAH!Meanwhile Cisco's backdoors get exposed twice daily kek
>>109475162Unless you're running OpenWRT, VyOS, OPNSense, similar open source os/software on custom hardware your router is also backdoored.
>>109475261This.Interestingly, this occured after a large campaign against heuwei specifically. It's almost as if a backdoor design was given to them, not used in the products resulting in the smear campagn. but used to gain entry...>>109475565>If you have shell access you can just disable it thoughMost ISP supplied routers - the larger chunk of devices you'll find in the wild - disallow as default, and via remote access can change anything the user does.>>109475567>they all have backdoors even if just for servicingThis.
>>109476920It's not so much /g as everywhere else. Tho I imagine there's a fair % that do just use what the ISP gives them, /g is just a rounding error on the total pool...>>109478440>chinese tech is always backdoored to the chinese? Not being funny or nuttin', but it's better than being backdoored to the murricans and the chinese...>>109481003Only the intended will ever use a backdoor. As demonstrated by every backdoor example, ever.
>>109475234This is disingenuous but wasting keystrokes on refuting this for you is a pointless endeavor
>>109476920I was wondering if these can use openwrt. I bet their prices will fall like a rock from this news
>>109475162Not like American ones, which completly respect human rights
>>109475234China sells your government the data for pennies lol
>>109475162yeah when you buy tech from china thats to be expected
>>109475162the US again being the bad guy, being shit at everything, lying and restricting others to win>the clipper chip (MYK-78) was a hardware encryption chipset manufactured in the united states with a built-in law enforcement access field backdoor>various Cisco PIX firewalls were targeted by the NSA ANT catalog using the JETPLOW firmware implant to create a permanent backdoor>some Cisco ASA firewalls had firmware implants added by intelligence agencies to ensure persistent unauthorized remote access>many Juniper Networks SSG series firewalls were compromised by BIOS injections like SOUFFLETROUGH to maintain hidden access>most Juniper NetScreen devices were found to contain an unauthorized ScreenOS backdoor allowing administrative access and passive decryption>almost all Intel central processing units feature the management engine which researchers have proven acts as a hardware level backdoor>recent Advanced Micro Devices platform security processors function as an ARM-based subsystem that acts as a closed hardware backdoor>specific Seagate storage devices were targeted by NSA firmware implants to create a stealthy hardware backdoor according to the ANT catalog>some Western Digital hard drives were compromised by tailored access operations to provide persistent hardware access>specialized hardware implants like RAGEMASTER were designed to compromise VGA cables and exfiltrate video data from monitors>classified NSA developed USB hardware implants called COTTONMOUTH-I were used to intercept communications and inject malware
>>109485298Looks like they have some mt7621 models. Seems like mostly low end cell APs. Idk how many people in America are actually using these things. Can't be a lot.
Pro chink shills getting lazier every day...What else is new...
>>109488988The wumao just want to be paid, not to think.
