CompTIA A+ is a waste of time. I've had it with CE and renewed it for the last 15 years. I've been unemployed for the last 2 years. And none of my other employers noticed it.Waste of time and money.
Unironically, I went to a school, since I was the first one to take it, the professor opened my exam and did it with the entire class. I'm studying for Sec+ 12 years later.

how does renewing these work? Do you have to pass another test or just pay a fee?

I'm doing the second part of this now and noticed on the 1000 page guides I pirated and some of the free stuff online they will be very "rigorous" aka have just a ton of irrelevant shit that isn't covered in other resources. I really feel like this is a fucking scam because imagine you spend months memorizing all this trivial shit but you've never run a cable or used any kind of enterprise software. I kinda wish I had taken the vocational IT shit in high school...
