Ok lads, retard here, I just set up the mesh deco for home wifi, my phone and my mum's phone are working fine but my laptop can't connect, in the app it shows it has connected as a device but the laptop it self either won't connect or when it gets connected it has terrible speed, for reference my connection is 500mb and I'm getting the full 500 mb on my phone through the mesh, why isn't it working on my laptop? Also for reference it connects and works fine on the actual modem but it's far away from my bedroom which is why I set up the mesh neteork

Thanks for any help

Are you using WPA-3?

Older devices might not support it.

I tried using the open security setting as I saw that light be an issue, I checked and my laptop doesn't support wifi 7 and changing to the open setting might let it work, but it made no difference, for reference my Xbox connected fine to the network which isn't wifi 7 compatible either

Driver issue with laptops wireless nic. Also check if the AP is reverse compatible, though im assuming thats what you meant by open security setting? If it doesnt offer downgrade wifi for incompatible devices then your boned.

I checked the wireless driver was up to date, I'm able to connect the laptop to the actual modem wifi so it's not as fast as I'd like but at least it works, That makes me think it's just the laptop isn't compatible with the mesh wifi 7, oh well

Thanks for the help everybody

What the fuck does this mean?

Are you using WPA-2 or not?

Learn basic wifi networking, or buy a new laptop.
