For people who use one of these toolsWhats your workflow? How do you manage for knowledge base? How do you integrate agents and llms to your setup?
>>109480585neovim and helix are both memes, nobody outside of yt programing influencers uses them, as for emacs only boomers use it, not because it is le good but because it is what they grew up on.
Open file, edit, save, run commands related to toolchains like everyone else. Knowledge base is .md files like everyone else.LLMs are either tab completion or an agent chat buffer, like every other editor.

I use nvim, but as a simple file editor. I use it to edit coonfigs, etc.>how do you integrate agents and llms to your setupI don't.
>>109480585>Whats your workflow?Telling people I use neovim

>>109480585No one serious uses them, I've only seen them used in demos where the fag is obviously trying to show off he's leet hacker while whenever you peak in his desktop when he's actually working he's using a regular IDE.
>>109480585It's mostly just used for aurafarming, not for actually working. That or you're an old fart like RMS and you can't be bothered with doing anything else.

I just use vim-wiki, goyo and vim.pencil.

I run claude in a terminal inside emacs and let it manage pretty much everything.

>>109480585>How do you manage for knowledge base?I used to use org-roam, but I'm moving my notes over to vulpea. There's a very high degree of compatibility between org-roam and vulpea, but vulpea is faster and has an interesting schema which lets you enforce a structure for different "types" of notes.https://github.com/d12frosted/vulpea>How do you integrate agents and llms to your setup? No.

it's amazing how simultaneously elaborate and stale programming editor culture is.Nobody actually wants to iterate on the same UX we've been using since the 70s

using both nvim and emacs. the only LLM integration I want is autocomplete, but that doesnt seem to work well

neovim + nvim-orgmodeI use pi and opencode if I feel like using an LLM.
>>109494775GNVKE
>>109480585I just have the agent tui (opencode/claude) and nvim open in separate tabs. Neovim's UI isn't great for LLM chats and that's okay.As a bonus with Kitty you can click on claude's file hyperlinks and have them open in neovim in the same tab for a quick inspection.
What's the point of using anything other than Micro (Linux) and Edit (Windows)?
I just use text editor if I really need to, if I'm in the t erminal I use vi and nano sometimes, as for integrating with agents well, they do their thing they know how to integrate with themselves they use md files mostly and I definitely ensure to create knowledge bases as to not lose any context or having to explain all from scratch to them. I'm still defining whether I'm an architect or just a vibeshitter... the AI says I'm good but so does my mom, my boss is a luddite or so I think and hates AI but he's no better than a jr/mid level engineer... he's made many mistakes by not using AI, so I'm still not convinced whether I'm becoming like a god being able to code and create and debug anything with the use of AI or if I'm losing all my brainpower.
>>109480585neovim>workflowedit text, run commands on the file with :! <command> %, have a split terminal opened up for anything more complicated. I don't use dap or neotest or anything like that. Why would I?>knowledge basevimwiki>agentsI don't. I copy and paste from the browser.
>>109494484By using toml to decalare and configure plugins, you don't have the ability to wrap plugins or their capabilities into functions in the same way that you can with vim or neovim. Helix doesn't have autocmds. You can't write a function in toml. You can write functions in scheme, however, so to reasonably achieve any kind of extensibility parity with vim or neovim, one would have to have a way to glue all of their plugins together in a scheme file, and then declare that file as a helix plugin.
I literally just chat with ChatGPT, then copypaste the code or write it myself. If I need to paste code to ChatGPT, I wrote a small script that takes filenames/fs globs, copies filey contents along filenames and then I can paste it into the chat window. It's good enough and I'm not interested in using any agents or giving them access. It also helps me remain more or less in comtrol. and aware of whatever I'm doing in the codebase.
>>109481229This just means you don't work anywhere serious.

>Whats your workflow?when i need it i use itHow do you manage for knowledge base?I use denote and a few org capture templates. I tried org roam but it was too complicated. How do you integrate agents and llms to your setup?I have an encrypted org file in which I keep all the prompts I might want to reuse. I break them into parts and I mix and match the parts using noweb syntax. I use this to generate pictures of my waifu showing off her armpits.
>>109499217i don't use helix, but what prevents you from using require to load plugins?when I used emacs, that's how you configured plugins. you could just create some sort of 'master' plugin, that decides in what order, and with what options to load other plugins dynamically.but yeah the lack of aucmd-like behavior is a pain
>>109501931>kakounewhat
>>109501931At least Kakoune feels consistent with the whole "visual-select-mode is normal-mode", Helix feels like it can't decide if it wants to be Kakoune or Neovim.>>109507529Helix was heavily inspired by Kakoune.
