>>109482547>proart PX13it doesn't even have a handle to toss it into the garbage with, why did you buy it?
>>109482350yeah idk what to tell you, windows is pretty brutal best to set up a custom ISO yourself and strip all the garbage out of it. I had updates disabled on my 11 install but now they're back enabled after not using the install for a while and I know it's just gonna fuck my system up if I let it install so I'm just constantly re-running that chris titus wintool thing to uninstall them all and disable them supposedly although it still re-enables itself randomly now. Once you get a win system good and solid it's pretty good but yeah arguably becoming not worth it.

>>109483777are you fucking serious. everytime you turds offer some linux alternative its usually shit and this one is shit. no i will not elaborate. why? i am sure their is some stupid bullshit that will work in some niche dumb shit way that isn't exactly the way I want it to be so doing that will have me waste 10-30mins looking through the entire fucking documentation. Just stfu foobar is still the best and will not and most likely won't be topped.
>>109484017btw when i say "some linux alternative" I am talking about music players specifically.
>>109482350>no drivers for your laptopI know that laptops tend to be more difficult than desktops when it comes to compatibility but you must really be rocking some niche hardware for that to be true.>>109482410I am genuinely curious as to what makes foobar2k so great that you would suffer through Windows just for that, and what it is that all the other alternatives on Linux lack specifically. I've got a decent sized music collection myself but I always listen to it on my phone using an old version of Phonograph as my music player, I haven't really gotten into trying audio players on Linux yet. That's likely to change soon since my convertible laptop is going to be pulling double duty as an infotainment system for my car.

>>109482508>FN keys don't workThat's really weird, I've installed Linux on several laptops and used different desktop keyboards with FN keys and never once have I had something like that happen. The other stuff like the fans and the lights I can see needing additional software to get working correctly but as far as I was aware I thought that FN keys were pretty much universal.>power profilesNow this one I have some experience with, I installed Artix on an adorable little Fujitsu Lifebook convertible laptop and I had to install a power profile daemon to get that functionality since it didn't come preinstalled.>>109482547>proart px13>$2500 monster with 128 GB of RAM, beefy CPU and GPU>convertible laptop with "art" in the name, supposedly made for "creators", but all the advertisement is screeching about its AYE EYE capabilities>no mention is made whatsoever of its stylus capabilities even though it can use one and the form factor should imply that it's purpose built for that in the first placeThis personally offends me somewhat, I'll confess.
>>109482554>We still don't know what __________ we should useWhichever one that you want to use that works best for you and your hardware, because it's not a monolith nor a monopoly like Windows. Each distro and package manager and init system and display server and desktop environment is purpose built with their own strengths and philosophies to fit the vision of their developers, that in turn will fit the sensibilities and preference of likeminded people. Having choices isn't a bug, it's a feature, unless you're a bootlicking normalfaggot bugperson that likes being told what's best for you of course.
>>109482350Tbh I never even researched if my labtop was "linux compatable" i literally just installed linux on it. Just works. What type of shitbox labtop do you have? Only issues ive had have been power management, but I bought a shelly plug to fix it.

>>109482514This. It's a small amount of tweaks compared to making (and keeping) linux usable, and if you do it properly you can forget about tinkering for as long as you keep that install. I don't understand the problem and I'm guessing op has calmed down about it by now and settled into his comfy IOT LTSC experience.
>>109482554This. Whole civilizations were built faster than Linux. Maybe in the next century they will figure out how to install an application. Just one more format guys and Linux will finally be fixed!
>>109482350Why don't you make your own OS instead of bitching on the internet?
You sound like you're in a bad mental place OP. What you need is a therapist, not another registry tweak.
>>109484726>Having choices isn't a bug, it's a featureWhat if all the choices are equally shitty and none fit the criteria of the user? People just want one thing that works and not a million subpar options.
