>>109494607Singh and Kumar(and it's feminine form Kumari) are like generic last names meaning "Lion" and "Prince" respectively. They aren't necessarily your family names, although by convention they are still inherited (especially Singh), so it's just more an effect thay they are the nobrainer last names everyone writes in documents, yet literally anyone can use them without regards to ancestry and they're still propagated forwards, so they becomes extremely overrepresented.Yes, I'm a jeet.
>>109494896Another thing to note is that, usually Kumar is used by younger people (generally <25 years in age and unmarried, also not all youth, this whole thing is about when people DO have it as their last name), and they "graduate" to using their proper family name(or Singh) instead as they age or get married. Singh conversely is generally "older" in that sense, however unlike Kumar, which is odd to see on an old person, it does have more significant use in younger populace.

Decisions are no longer being made based on consumer demand because capitalism has been subverted by institutions and consumer trends have been discarded in favor of an agenda for more power over the consumer by said institutions. In a true capitalist system where monopolies were broken up and price fixing was prohibited then companies like framework would be allowed to succeed instead of being intentionally suppressed by the rest of the industry in a coordinated fashion.Actual free markets cannot exist as long as the tree of liberty remains parched thoughbeit.

I have an RX 9070. I don’t need to upgrade for probably 5 years.I’m don’t need ever more intensive graphics. Nvidia needed to force ray tracing because after the Pascal generation we had enough raster performance for gamers to be satisfied.New games all are unoptimized UE6 garbage with Ai generated textures and intensive ray tracing just for an excuse to need GPU performance. Somehow modern games are looking worse than games released 10 years ago.How many fps do you need? I’m fine with 144. 4k 60 is fine for me.

>>109507487No, it's not enough raster performance. It was simply impossible to keep pushing things forward within the form factor and budget available for this. But yes, we don't need anywhere near the current processing power we have and I'm hoping (being overly optimistic, I know that's never happening) that people will start optimizing performance on their software (impossible, since we live in the era of ai slopification), which would let us make much greater use of future hardware. In the meantime I bet you could, with a lot of thought and effort as this is all a lost art, make games like cyberpunk run on something like a gtx 1060ti at max, no raytracing, maybe not 4k but close. Similarly, we should be able to have far faster programs for compute tasks in hpc than we currently have.
>>109507566Furthermore, because they're a company, they don't really pay for it per se, it is depreciation which can be put forward on the timeline of the project and used as tax break on profit when they ship. Current RAM prices do not facilitate that, and will price out huge amounts of households globally. This will shrink economies from global and interconnected to increasingly local. RAM price fixing is unsustainable.
>>109503893I will pirate everything.
>>109494542Historically I would go through a few GPUs and maybe one CPU depending on motherboard support. The primary benefits of modularity are not being tied down to whatever SKUs the vendor decides to sell and being able to replace fucked components individually. Soldered RAM would be a nightmare in this regard so of course it will become the norm.
>>109513598The thing is, the performance of socketed ram is atrocious. And it has terrible stability issues as well. The performance boost of bringing the ram onto the cpu package would be significant. Soldered ram onto the mainboard is of course garbage. But a combined cpu and ram package with a socket would be pretty decent. You could still have motherboards with their different form factors.
>>109513630Yeah that's a good point. I assume the issue is the trace length and routing introducing parasitics? Would doing something like socketed PoP be a good enough middle ground?
