I'll preface this post by saying that I'm not a smart man and I need help with the very basics.I have sporadically tried to get into music production for a while now but all I make is crap that sounds the same:https://voca.ro/1gf1aEprZJRcI start with drums add random instruments, some variation here and there... idk what goes on in my brain where I start with "I wanna make a cool tribal thing with prominent drums and a low pitch synth thing in the background" and then I start browsing the trillion instruments available on fl studio, fuck around with them while placing notes more or less randomly and whatever idea was in my head just dies in the process.I eventually want to replicate the music that sometimes plays in my brain. Like when I'm drunk and exhausted I'll just hear "original" music while I'm laying in bed or whatever and I'd like to turn that into actual music I can show other people. But first I need to be able to make a half decent song out of an idea and idk there's just something wrong about my approach that kills the flow and my ability to translate an idea into a song.Do you guys have any tips and/or ideas of what I'm doing wrong?
