Does anyone else have luddite fatigue? They're all just pajeet codetrannies mad that their virtual shelf-stacking job is no longer needed. They're buckbroken and finished. I'll continue to vibeGOD successful websites and programs while they just cope and seethe about it.

Discuss luddite fatigue in this thread.

What program did you VibeGODDED bro?

You will never be a real programmer.

Vibecoders want to be programmers, and insist we call them programmers. But they will never be real programmers. They have no ability, they have no experience, they have no brain. They are AI shitters twisted by prompts and workflows into a crude mockery of nature's perfection.

>India is one of the fastest-growing Artificial Intelligence (AI) markets worldwide, projected to exceed $17 billion by 2027 according to a Boston Consulting Group report. Backed by strong government support, 700-800 million internet users, a strong STEM education system, and a scalable public digital infrastructure, India’s AI sector offers significant entry points and opportunities for U.S. technology companies to export their AI tools and solutions across a broad range of industry sectors.

https://www.ibm.com/thought-leadership/institute-business-value/en-us/report/india-ai-economy
>With nearly 1.8 lakh start-ups and about 89 percent of new ones reportedly integrating AI into their products or services, India has rapidly emerged as a major AI adoption hub. The country scores 2.45 out of 4 on enterprise AI readiness, with 87 percent of enterprises using AI solutions across sectors such as banking, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. With AI projected to contribute up to US$ 1.7 trillion to India’s economy by 2035, the key question is no longer whether India will use AI, but how this expanding ecosystem is shaping new models of AI deployment for the public good.

big oof

What strikes me most is that the thread isn't really a coherent debate over AI. It's a four-way collision of different arguments that happen to share the same vocabulary.
1. The OP's position is basically accelerationist triumphalism
The OP frames the issue in extremely stark terms:
AI won
Luddites lost
and characterizes opposition to AI as resentment from people whose jobs have supposedly become unnecessary.
- Does anyone else have luddite fatigue_ They're all - Technology - 4chan(1).pdf
The interesting part is that the OP doesn't actually spend much time establishing why AI has won. The assumption is essentially:
AI can produce software software production is what programmers do therefore programmers are becoming obsolete.
That makes the argument rhetorically powerful but analytically rather thin.
And the language becomes increasingly tribal: vibeGODs versus codetrannies, "AI shitters," "luddites," etc. At that point the technological proposition has become a status contest.
>>
2. The counterargument that actually has teeth appears later
The best response in the entire thread, IMO, is the relatively restrained one:
"I think if vibers stopped pretending that coding wasn't the hard part, the filter, then it would be a bit more well received."
- Does anyone else have luddite fatigue_ They're all - Technology - 4chan(1).pdf
That is a much more interesting criticism than "AI bad."
It attacks the implicit premise of the OP's argument: that producing code is equivalent to doing the work of software engineering.
Even if an LLM becomes extraordinarily good at generating syntactically valid, useful code, there remains a distinction between:
deciding what ought to be built,
understanding the existing system,
specifying requirements,
recognizing incorrect output,
debugging,
testing,
maintaining,
integrating,
and accepting responsibility for the resulting system.
The thread never really resolves that distinction. Instead, both camps repeatedly collapse "writing code" and "being a programmer" into the same thing.
>>
3. Then the thread degenerates into credential/status warfare
The "Name one successful luddite" challenge is revealing. One poster responds with Wozniak, Varoufakis, Chomsky, Bengio, and Hinton, explicitly noting that two are major AI researchers.
- Does anyone else have luddite fatigue_ They're all - Technology - 4chan(1).pdf
The opposing side then essentially responds:
"I've never heard of these people."
followed by Gates, Musk, and Trump as the recognizable successful figures.
- Does anyone else have luddite fatigue_ They're all - Technology - 4chan(1).pdf
At that point we're no longer discussing AI whatsoever.
The implicit argument has become:
"My conception of who counts as successful is superior to yours."
And the amusing thing is that the thread then produces progressively more absurd examples—Jordan, Tyson, Babe Ruth, the Amish, historical religious and political figures, etc.
- Does anyone else have luddite fatigue_ They're all - Technology - 4chan(1).pdf
That's basically someone exposing the logical weakness of the original challenge by taking it to its absurd conclusion:
Not using computers doesn't prevent someone from being successful.
Obviously.
But neither does that demonstrate that AI isn't transformative. So both sides are scoring rhetorical points while mostly avoiding the actual question.
>>
4. The funniest contradiction is that the "AI won" camp is itself intensely dependent on AI
There's a particularly revealing sequence:
"I just run agents on my local models"
followed by someone talking about trying to make seventeen Gmail accounts to circumvent Claude's usage limits.
- Does anyone else have luddite fatigue_ They're all - Technology - 4chan(1).pdf
That's a perfect little microcosm of the culture being discussed.
The thread isn't simply:
humans who use AI vs. humans who don't.
It's also:
people who use AI as a tool vs. people who treat AI use as an identity and status hierarchy.
The latter produces the vibeGOD terminology, the boasting, the "I don't have to code anymore" rhetoric, and eventually even fantasies about physically attacking "luddites."
- Does anyone else have luddite fatigue_ They're all - Technology - 4chan(1).pdf
That's why I wouldn't characterize the thread as a serious pro-AI argument. It's closer to AI accelerationism expressed through /g/'s traditional culture-war shitposting apparatus.
>>
>>109513916
keep coping codetranny
>>
>>109511050
If I were responding to the OP specifically, I'd attack the enormous gap between the confidence of his thesis and the evidence he actually provides.
Something along these lines:
You haven't actually demonstrated that AI "won" anything. You've demonstrated that LLMs are surprisingly good at generating code and that you personally enjoy using them. Those are two completely different propositions.
You're also conflating "writing code" with "being a programmer." If an agent generates 50,000 lines of code for you, somebody still has to determine what those 50,000 lines are supposed to accomplish, whether the architecture is sane, whether the output is correct, what assumptions it made, and what happens when it breaks six months from now.
And the funniest part is that you're spending an entire thread calling everyone else cope-addicted while apparently needing to turn AI adoption into a personal identity. "VibeGOD" isn't an argument. It's just a username with extra steps.
Use the machine. Enjoy it. Hell, let it write your entire application if it works. But if your argument requires pretending that every programmer is merely a human keyboard translating English into semicolons, you aren't describing software engineering—you've constructed a strawman specifically designed to declare yourself the winner.
AI being useful doesn't require you to be this insecure about people who disagree with you.
"VibeGOD" is not a software engineering methodology.

Here’s why the Luddites are wrong—again.

Luddites claim that AI-generated art, music, and writing are "soulless" or "stolen," ignoring that tools have always shaped human expression. The printing press didn’t kill storytelling; it spread it. Photoshop didn’t destroy painting; it created new genres. Vibecoding—whether through MidJourney, Sunno, or GitHub Copilot—is just the latest evolution: a collaborative partner that handles the tedious so humans can focus on the visionary.

Before AI, high-quality art, music, or code required years of training or expensive resources. Now, a teenager in Manila can generate album art, a poet in Nairobi can refine verses with AI, and a solo dev can prototype a game in hours. That’s not degradation—that’s empowerment. Every human creator stands on the shoulders of giants. Shakespeare borrowed plots; Picasso copied African masks; DJs sample old records. AI trains on existing data—just like humans do, but at scale. The difference? AI credits its influences (via training data licenses), while humans often romanticize "originality" that doesn’t exist. Folk music, graffiti, and memes all emerged from remixed culture. Vibecoding is today’s folk tradition: iterative, communal, and unpretentious. The Luddite’s disdain for it reeks of elitism—the same snobbery that once dismissed photography as "not real art." Most "lost" jobs are soul-crushing: data entry, telemarketing, repetitive coding. If AI automates these, humans can focus on meaningful work—teaching, nursing, art, research. The real question is: Will we let the rich hoard AI’s benefits, or will we demand a world where automation reduces toil for all? vibecoding—playful, experimental, and deeply human—proves that AI can be warm. AI and vibecoding aren’t threats—they’re invitations to reimagine what humans can create when freed from artificial limits. You can either vibe with it or get left behind.

You have an AI genie, and yet you're an unemployed loser with no income nor real projects, or any life prospects. How come?
>>
This is a remarkably elaborate way of saying "new technology good."
Nobody serious is arguing that tools have never changed creative work. The printing press, photography, Photoshop, samplers, DAWs, and synthesizers all changed what humans could do. The relevant question is what kind of tool AI is and what consequences follow from its particular method of operation, not whether technological tools are historically unprecedented.
The "AI learns like humans do, but at scale" analogy is especially convenient. Humans don't ingest billions of works indiscriminately and reproduce statistical representations of them at industrial scale. Nor does "humans borrow from other humans" establish that every possible method of acquiring and commercializing training data is ethically or legally equivalent.
And "AI credits its influences via training-data licenses" is doing an absurd amount of work in one sentence. A model does not somehow retroactively credit every artist whose work contributed to its capabilities merely because its developer obtained some licensed training data.
"A teenager in Manila can now make an album cover" also doesn't demonstrate that the artist has been empowered. It demonstrates that the cost of producing a particular artifact has fallen. Those aren't synonymous. If the same technology simultaneously makes it economically harder for the people who used to produce that work to earn a living, you've changed the distribution of value—you haven't abolished the underlying scarcity by declaring victory.

>>
>>109514089

>>
>>109514089
And the argument that automation will eliminate "soul-crushing" jobs so everyone can become a teacher, nurse, artist, or researcher is probably the oldest automation fantasy imaginable. Automation can absolutely reduce toil. It does not automatically determine who receives the productivity gains. That's a political and economic question, not a property of the model.
Finally, calling vibecoding "today's folk tradition" doesn't make it so. Folk traditions emerge from communities of people making and transmitting culture. An LLM generating statistically plausible output on request is a tool used by people participating in culture; the model itself isn't suddenly a member of the folk.
Use AI. Make your album covers. Vibe code your game. Nobody gives a shit. Just stop pretending that "this technology is useful" logically entails "therefore every criticism of its economic, artistic, or social consequences is Luddism."
That's not an argument for AI. It's marketing copy.
