>foldables
Are ppl still falling for these snowflakes ?
My A54 will outlove this overpriced junk ten fold
>>
what does /spg/ think of the oppo find x9s ?
>>
>>109514922
What's the point of no foldable phone when you can tablet tier screen while keeping the form factor of a normal phone? The point of a foldable to remain a normal phone that happen to transform into a tablet.
>>
>>109514921
you have to click one box chud
>>
>>109514921
google has already addressed all of these issues, we can stop talking about this. they are putting a restriction up where you have to wait some amount of time to enable dev mode. shizuku used an exploit, no surprise it got patched. turn dev mode on, wait the timeout, attach the phone with adb and remove everything google related. that simple.
>>
>>109515057
You're still asking for permission to use your devices. That's still not great.
>>
>>109515102
Unfortunately such restrictions are necessary due to the wider society being vulnerable to scams, phishing, cybercrime, and so on. If you're really determined though, you will find a way and nobody is chasing you down over it.

>normal
My definition of a normal phone is one that won't get severly damaged from simply getting used.
There is simply no material in existence robust enough to build a usable foldable screen.

It's the OLED versus LCD discussion all over again.
OLED is not fit to be used in TVs since the material is incapable of reaching adequate brightness without self-destruct same as fragile plastic + volatile solvents will simply evaporate and break from applied finger pressure or from simply laying around and oxidizing.

To use both technologies and any of the aforementioned products is bottom line retarded.

>>109515121
The biggest threat to cyber security are state actors with the power to backdoor their way in every major system, specifically US, Israel (and I'm repeating myself here), and China.
Scams and phishing are achieved at a non-technical level: the weak link is the person holding the phone, a timer won't do shit other than normalize yet another degree of separation between customer and ownership.

Scam and phishing are defeated through public awareness and education, not through technical means. It's in the same playbook with "think of the children", where it got deployed and now half the internet ask for your ID: it's a problem that has to be solved through social awareness, and with sexual and emotional education at both societal and family levels, instead it's co-opted as a vehicle for more dystopic surveillance at the benefit of nobody but the powers at be.
>>
>>109515220
pop open the tor browser
suddenly all that nonsense goes away
works in the UK
works in the US
it's very straight forward
>>
>>109515252
Are you just pretending? The fact that for the time being workarounds exist doesn't change the issue at hand for any of those issues.
>>
>>109515161
There are plenty of technologies being currently developed to overcome this issue, as flexible screens have many other applications outside of foldable phones.
If you want a phone that can survive nuclear explosion you can get yourself some superbrick but modern foldable phones are already pretty durable.
Technology is of course not comparable with brick phone right now so you have to make some sacrifices but in my opinion having this option to get tablet tier of screen out of same phone is great.
>>
>>109515268
Lets talk about when a bill is about to pass that meaningfully makes Tor illegal. Until that point there is nothing to talk about.
>>
>>109515272
I believe it when I see it, anon
all I see is bullshit marketing my favorite being "flexible glass defying physics itself"

Don't believe everything they tell you. Don't be a r/science guy since all this translates to bullshit.

A mobile device should be durable. It's the ground rule. Since these devices need to be weather tight and shockproof because they are using an outside environment. We're weathering, sand and occasional hits are a given.
Best examples are smart watches. I own a waterproof watch in metal body on a metal strap, it has a saphire glass where the battery needs to be charged only every 30 days or so. It can work without a phone if it needs to and still have GPS navigation and it does not look like a tank. It looks like a simple elegant watch. Why? Because it was made by intelligent people, as opposed to stupid people like Apple's engineers.
Compared to the oh so prised apple smartwatch, which is a fragile overpriced toy in comparison and you'd need to be brain damage to choose the latter.

Same goes for my beloved A54, a slab. But it's a very robust slab. I had kids standing with their entire bodyweight on the screen without a problem.
It fell from a three story building. Not even as cratch on the screen, by the way.
Why? Because it was designed by intelligent people.

>>
>>109515344
I assume you're not an engineer, so I'll make it simple: the thinner something is, the more tightly you can bend it without breaking it, regardless of how strong or brittle it is. With this rule you can have optical fibers or foldable screens. Fatigue is a bit harder to assess on glass and polymers, but the rule remains the same: make it thinner, the thinner the less it gets stresses when bent with a certain radius, the less it gets stressed the less likely it will fail.

t. engineer
>>
>>109515344
I'm telling you once again, if you want an indestructible brick you can get an indestructible brick. For normal uses current foldable phones are sufficient enough while providing amazing form factor.
>>
>>109514943
Why not just get n6 at this point?
>>

Normies can't afford folding phones which makes them even greater. iPhone pro that every Shaqueena buys herself for 2 year loan costs about 1k dolla, while folding phones are like 2k+

Here's the latest iOS 27 beta with the latest Siri ai VS the latest Gemini ai. You can use the link to watch the video to see the before and after results and it's not even close the new Siri AI beats the Gemini AI in photo and video editing. Google messed up the parking lot lines for the parking spaces, it also messed up the guy's eyes when removing glasses, it also messed up removing his hand holding the laptop and finally it was not able to remove the entire shelf against the wall.
