Are you going analogue in 2026?

Zoomers are going analogue and rejecting always online smartphone tech.
>>
>>109514916
most of these techs aren't analog.

but yeah, escaping from global surveillance is based and more people should do it.

>BUT I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE
Good for you, I hope you also always respect driving regulations and never violate the speed limit.
>>
I'm going anal with my twink boyfriend
>>
>>109514916
I actually have been hopping on this trend
I started using a standalone camera rather than my phone because my phone camera is all fucked up with finger grease and theres no ai postprocessing on my old inherited sony japshit camera. i'm going to start buying music CDs again to play in my car. I'm also going to start buying disks for my xbox 360 to build up a little offline connection
the worst part is that none of my artists release CDs and you have to burn them yourself. I think E.L.O migt have released CD but originals are rare
>>
>>109514916
for zoomers, no need for paper maps, you can buy a garmin with preloaded maps for the whole country it does not need internet
>>
>>109514987
dedicated cameras are probably the only thing i can think of that are practical. i'd still rather have a unified device for music, notes, maps, ect. (smart phone)
>>
>Zoomers are going analogue

Zoomers are buying $300 worth of 2000s era tech from eBay, filming their purchases for a "Daily Analogue Aesthetic" video on TikTok and then looking at reels for 6-8 hours a day. Stop this meme about zoomers being based and rejecting technology, its completely performative and you fell for it.

>Erm actually it's not the definition in the dictionary so you're wrong!

Analog in the context of 2026 is a new definition. Something can be digital and also not new and always offline.

Playing a vinyl is just as "analog" and computerized as a digital CD because they both rely on computerized hardware.

Even film cameras are still digital because they rely on computers to process the film.

>they both rely on computerized hardware
vinyl were invented way before we had computers or transistors.

film cameras don't rely on computers to process the film. that is entirely up to your decision, most films were edited by hand, and effects were painted/drawn on top of the film

>Erm just use no cellphone because it's not real analog
>Just make your own darkroom with chemicals and inferior picture quality or else it's not analog
>Just get an old mechanical vinyl player that sounds like garbage or it's not REAL analog

And the delusion goes on. Most of modern life is digital, but it can also still be analog as its offline and self contained.
>>
>>109515225
analog doesn't mean old
there's modern high tech that's analog
>>
>>109515351
this, tons of high quality cameras still use film and are still analog.
>>
>>109515330

most analog camera don't need a darkroom, they take picture on a special photosensitive medium, that produces already developed pictures.
>>
>>109515330
>mechanical vinyl players are trash
I don't know where you get that idea from, but they produce the same sound as a 'digital' vinyl player, because they both use the exact same technology, the only digital part is the audio signal amp. they still use the same exact reading mechanism.

analog vinyl players are still widely used in music production/live because they have lower latency than digital players.
>>
>>109514916
>Are you going analogue in 2026?
nah I don't miss that shit, especially not the paper maps.
try using your phone reasonably instead of trying to fix your personal issues with retro-consumerism.
when you want to do some crime/terrorist stuff and don't want to be tracked just leave phone at home.
>>
>>109515330
so just say offline, don't call it analog

There's a lot of satellite navigation systems that don't need/have Internet access.
I'd advocate for those. Paper maps are probably the single worst analog technology. The only way to make it good is if you're on a boat since that provides enough space freedom to actually engage with it properly.
CDs are for access to uncompressed audio not daily carry.
Paper is unparalleled for note taking and likely always will be.
In my lab digital is exclusively for the final record. Nowadays advanced OCR makes it super easy to feed paper notes into the computer for archival.
>>
>>109515512
You're a presumptuous niggermoron. Just because I don't want to carry a loot drops-worth of gadgets and gizmos--most of which I won't even use throughout the day--doesn't mean I'm in favor of carrying around a glownigger pacifying homing device, or that I'm a subscriptionfag.

Why the fuck do I need a handheld console, a camera, two laptops, knives, a smartphone, a dumbphone, an MP3... When the hell would I even find the time throughout my day to use half of this shit. It's on par with tacticool/prepperfags. It's all just for the sake of appearance. You're better off just not carrying anything and just living in the moment.

As for what's app and banking apps it's like people have never heard of a computer. Airports, buses and metro all have paper tickets everywhere in the world. Maybe you'll not have Uber but it's not that big of a deal just call a taxi.

You don't need to be constantly talking to people on your phone or texting. If they really need to talk to you they can use your number or call you.

As someone who buys a lot of CDs just burn them all yourself. The secondhand market is exciting at first. Then you get to the point where you must have SPECIFIC titles and pay out the ass for them.

Just learn what a cue sheet is and how to burn it with imgburn or whatever the equivalent is on your OS. If you want to support active artists buy on bandcamp. Otherwise pirate all the shit that isn't available physically. Everyone just rips flacs from streaming services now so lossless cd quality audio is all over the internet. I am 37 years old. My relationship with retro tech is different since I actually grew up with it. It's just a hobby you can pick up you know. You don't need to reframe it as a lifestyle change even if it functionally is one. I think the present sucks and the future is looking even more bleak. Pulling out a Gameboy and playing Pokémon instead of getting into an argument with someone on the internet isn't just about childhood nostalgia. I'm also looking back on a past when a basic toy computer you would give to a child was enough to entertain me. Sure it helps that I was one then. But it's fun and it kills time. I hope at least some people younger than me do get experiences that are like that and leave the shit behind for awhile.

Even if this was somehow all analogue, this would still be a stupid decision. Not that you can't use an appropriate tool for the job, but the equivalent of "go live in a cabin in the woods off grid" is not the way to handle this .What they should be putting their effort into is fixing the reasons they are being driven away from this technology in the first place - corporate profiteering, proprietary fucktards, surveillance capitalism, social media and other dark patterns run by an increasingly centralized, limited group of platforms etc. That's the real fix, not giving up technology but fixing the problems with it. Simply running away from it means you lose those technological benefits AND the fucktards who ruined things get away with it because you'll never convince the majority of people to basically live in a cave, return to monke etc.

>>109515046
This is the problem. This is not a serious campaign, this is performative shit that's consumption based - not much different than hipsters buying old vinyl instead of CDs or digital download formats to 'make a statement' that ends up basically generating hipster cred and jacking up the price of vinyl. Also they've gotta stop using "analogue" to mean "old", - the fucking CD player is not an analog format., a dumbphone is not analogue, and even the watch is digital for fuck's sake; its crazy they couldn't get a picture of a chronograph or something with a standard clock face.
>>
The solution to the tech addiction problem is literally just a dumb phone and a computer

The dumb phone will keep you off YouTube and scrolling shorts in your daily life

The laptop will let you do whatever you need on the go.

The people who say they can't live without what's app or apps all day just are lying to themselves.

I can check my bank, do all my finances at home and I'll have my authenticator and all my stuff backed up and add my stuff to devices as needed.
>>
Half of this is not analogue technology and I don't give a fuck what zoomers are doing.
What you actually want to do is punt the smartphone off a cliff and replace the creeping digitisation of different activities with their traditional counterparts. That's not in of itself a bad thing, but good luck. Smartphone use is more down to cost and convenience than just being a blind shill, even if one begets the former begets the latter.

Sure let me just carry around:
>dumbphone
>notepad
>calculator
>GPS
>MP3 player
>books
>camera
>laptop
And More!

No, you don't need all of that shit 24/7 but it's entirely possible some zoomer fag takes it too far and fills out his cargo jorts with this shit trying to look trendy and retro.

All you need to do is get the fuck off the internet and use traditional technology when it's suitable. It's not hard to do if you weren't raised to be cattle.

Those hipsters aren't buying up the old vinyl making it expensive. They're buying what's on the shelf at Target and the price is going up because there are less pressing plants and also oil is getting expensive but they're not making the records thinner like they did in the 70s. It does have a radar trap option, plus a specific way to turn it off for the yurocuck countries where it's illegal, but I've never seen one pop up in burgerland. I don't think anyone updates the database consistently.
The speed traps we have here are cops sitting at a random place by the road with a radar, so if you want up-to-date warnings unfortunately you need an app a lot of people use and that's google, people are pretty good about reporting traps on there. I just use a radar detector but I imagine they are illegal in many places.

Everyone carries their phone
Dumb phone has a calculator
Camera is good to have its intentional
MP3 you need a DAC anyways and they are very small
You already carry a wallet and keys which is required to drive or go out in the world anyways
GPS stays in the car on the dash you don't carry it with you on your person.
Laptop is good if you're a student and you just put it in a backpack.

Books are not a required thing to carry everywhere they stay at home like movies and TV shows

So basically not only is replacing a smartphone good but its practical as well.

At most you'd need to carry is phone, wallet, keys. How is it crazy to consider adding a digital camera or mp3 player or notepad with pen. They are tasteful additions that weigh nothing.

>Playing a vinyl is just as "analog" and computerized as a digital CD because they both rely on computerized hardware.
no they don't, they don't even need electricity to be played. most record players were entirely analog without any semiconductors or microcontrollers in them. you probably can find some modern players with digital processing in them but that wasn't the norm for the media nor does the media contain any form of digitally-encoded information. i hope you understand that something using electricity doesn't make it digital or computerised

that said basically every album since the early '80s has been digitally mastered to some degree before being pressed to vinyl, so if you want to be pedantic about the entire chain then you can't buy any albums after the '70s if you want something analogue end-to-end

curious to know when was the last time any of you fags used a real paper map. for me it was in 2010, just moved to a new area and only later that year got a smartphone. was picking up some second hand stuff but not being familiar with the area i picked up a local map from a petrol station. don't remember the time before that that i used one, before moving i pretty much knew where everything was.

reel to reel tape is horrible
I transferred a tape from the 60s last week, and it sounds like a horror movie. I've been ripping CDs since 1995. Digital formats have gotten so much better, and i own all my media.
But going back to maps is good
lots of places don't have a good signal, and using your brain keeps it sharper. Mapquest was a shitty in-between
notepads are great, I still use one every day in a largely paperless office
I don't need another monitor strapped to my wrist that i need to charge daily to tell me the same shit that's on a phone, I just need to know the time without needing to dig into my pocket

>>109521085
>But going back to maps is good
>lots of places don't have a good signal,
Organic Maps. Works offline, same as most OSM based maps.

zoomers won’t “go analogue” they’ll just buy old tech to record videos of themselves using it on TikTok and then let it rot in their closet. but at least the prices will be higher for the rest of us!

Yes, I am doing what I can to negate cell tower triangulation to disrupt data on myself that would otherwise be sold to advertisers who's content I don't even see. Ain't no one but my wife needs to know when and which dollar store I'm buying my incoming heart condition from.

>CD player
why?
Cheap MP3 players are a solved tech, no outside connections needed, no skipping or scratching, no draining your goyphone's battery needlessly. 3 week battery life.
Same with cheap DSLRs bonus points for not having everything you take get watermarked by your goyphone, uploaded to the cloud for scanning automatically, and tagged with invisible metadata to track you and your location.

The modern tech obsession with an "all-in-one gadget" is the reason everything is so fucking bleak, extends into the software side of situation with dedicated useful and feature complete programs being replaced by generalized inefficient AI.

First wipe your phone camera off with isopropyl and cotton swabs you subhuman ape
Also of course ELO has released CDs back in the 80s and 90s even 2000s and so on as reissues are always coming out

Yet you still have a smartphone, interesting.

All you need is wallet, keys, dumb phone, camera, and a notepad+pen to navigate the modern world.

I can easily carry all these in my pocket. Smartphones are a fucking plague.

>>109514916
Well i just got the s26 ultra
>>
>>109514916
>Are you going analogue in 2026?
No. A smertphone replaces all that and more.
>>
>>109515225
"physical media" is the word you're searching for zoom zoom. Analog is a word that means certain things and your retarded take won't change that.
>>
>>109514916
no they just buy these old stuff after seeing them on social media like the consoomers they are, put them all on the table and take a pic to show how cool they are, then they keep scrolling their smart phones
>>
>>109514987
I have discrete cameras but they're still DSLR.
>>
>>109526534
DSLRs are better than mirrorless and nobody will ever be able to convince me otherwise.
>>
Old shit isn't analog, but I would say it's a healthy compromise. I would say more anti cloud, but I think there's a whole other non meme phrase to describe it.

you don’t need to carry around a camera or a notepad and if you are going to you might as well just carry around a smartphone and only use it for those things.

>>

>>
>>109528994
smartphones aren't media
>>
98% of zoomers who go "analog" go crawling back to their do-it-all smartphone within 12 months, if not sooner, especially the ones larping with film cameras and paper maps and notebooks
>>
>>109514961
>I hope you also always respect driving regulations and never violate the speed limit.
Everyone goes 10-20 over depending on flow of traffic. That doesn't make you a target for enforcement.
>>109515246
They already do this with cameras attached to buildings and infrastructure. How do cameras exactly limit your freedom?
