There is no AI demand, everyone I know just uses by default when looking things up on google. Nobody is paying for grok pro or whatever, where is the demand, really?
>>
>>109519234
they create their own demand. OpenAI buy nvidia gpu then nvidia buys openai shares which makes openai buy even more nvidia gpu. cycle repeats until ipo where nvida dumps their shares for the peasants to buy.

Plenty of people use AI. But people are using it because its free. The moment ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini remove the free tier is the moment 80% of the userbase vanishes.
Personally I will switch to a locally hosted AI the moment ChatGPT runs out of VC money

its all manufactured, all bots trying to tell you something against the facts you can observe from just looking at the situation with a critical eye

That pic is inaccurate. The native indians were stone age savages whose best achievement was enslaving each other.
If anything, their lives got better once the Europeans built schools, hospitals, railroad tracks and electricity for them.

Nah I've seen this movie before, and also understand the economics

20 years of progress of what?

Price-per-bit scaling stalled about 4 years ago because SRAM/DRAM/NAND can't effectively size down much lower than 10nm production processes.
This shit (the AI thing) has exploded the price well beyond necessary in a nonsensical way.

>>109522177
is that why you keep simping for chinese corporations that don't care about you?

This is a high demand situation from megacorporations.
Undercutting the cartel means you make a shitload of money assuming you have the volume to do so.

i fell for the local ai meme
roughly i say i think i got around two terabytes worth of models in last two or three years

first wave was shit
second wave of models was somewhat good it even got me tricked for a while
until this third current wave hit

it is all smoke and mirrors
if you have no idea what you are on about that crap will lead you on for hours if you allow it if not for days
lucky me i archived bunch of sites of technical nature (software development) + got archived offline version of major sites

llm, 50/50 sometimes more of chance it will find a solution and is mostly, often somewhat good (somewhat), for scripting languages
offline archives on the other hand will allow me to find a solution maybe within 20-30 minutes max and that is only becasue i am reading up stuff related to whatever i am after that i find interesting along the way

btw out of 40 llm models at most i had at a time i am down to only three of them right now
it was all slop
even few of these i got are meh but somewhat useful
>>
>>109522648
to add, also notice 'i am not techie' npcs tyhat are amused by llms, it is either some mundane shit they are amused by or 'virtual friend/gf' shit they use for erp

read generals on this board to get sense of it. lot of retardation.
