I have a theory that numpad users are all 40 wpm qwertylets who can't touch type, and that's why they need a little grid for numbers. They don't remember where the top row numbers are so they have to look down at their keyboard to find them.

i'm in accounting and only use TKLs, much to my colleagues dismay. it's faster to type numbers with the number row anyway since you use both hands
