Wayland used to be good in it's early stages, because the usecase was limited to kiosks and experimental embedded software. Once they tried forcing it into the desktop it became non-working broken crap.Distro adoption was so abjectly minimal, they had to shill it relentlessly and make up security issues in hopes of attracting new users.Failing that, they blame everyone else for it's objectively flawed foundation but themselves.
Wayland was always trying to be a X replacement for desktops.One of the big early talks selling Wayland went on about gedit, blaming X for how slow it is.(which is ridiculous btw, just try something without gnome bloat like nedit)
