The reason people do sua that is because they want to be transparent about using AI and not lie. And when the do say that as a disclaimer it merely means they won't be bothered to do more (like, understand what an LLM says and process it with their own brain somehow). The author is suggesting I spend more effort on something I'm not incentivized to spend it on.
