Bjarne Stroustrup:

AI-generated code isn't ready — it generates more bugs, more bloat, more security holes, and is nearly impossible to validate

"senior developers are already retiring rather than deal with it"

The problem is that even a small prompt change can shift the entire codebase in unpredictable ways

Oh Tanenbaum, oh Tanenbaum,
were you ever right about anything, even once, in your life?

Humans are famous for never generating security holes in C++

It really is that simple.

if that's true, then that means that oop failed. lulz

Linus Torvalds never once cared about Linux kernel security. This is done on purpose. Hardware performance matters more to him than anything else.

If he did, he would have accepted some of GRsecurity's patches, but since this patchset hurts performance, they weren't accepted.

The patchset is no longer open source, even though it is GPL licensed (LOL), and Linux lost the last opportunity where it could significantly harden the kernel. Linux is a glowop OS now.

A circular saw can cut your piece right in half and ruin it with a single missed cut. But you should still use one because if you know what you’re doing it will save you time and effort.

Linus says AI-generated code is shit too.

Maybe AI generated code is actually good...
