Yeah but like Linux pain is better than windows pain.

Skill issue.

it's funny because linux runs windows apps better than windows
>need to lock your cursor to a boarderless window that's tab-able in command and conquer games? one toggle in protontricks
>GTA san andreas (original release)? all bugs are related to logic being computed per frame, no need to install patches just to get it running
>dawn of war collection (original release)? yep, runs better on linux
>emulators? oh you already know linux already got the best ones
some of y'all are larping for larping's sake, linux at this point is objectively better for old classics. Proton is easier for getting old games running than the non-existent support under win11 for old DX9 & earlier (yes, including DX9), and even a lot of directdraw games.
People forget that a lot of the reason why win7 was remembered so fondly is because win7 era games were just starting to standardize some practices that seem obvious now (borderless window, multiple screens, etc), while providing adequate support for DX9. DX9 deprecation past win7 has been inexcusable, especially in win11.

who the fuck runs win11, you stay on 10 or move to troonix
>>

Is that through Wine emulsion or is that something else?

fucking kek, where did you find that bait?
>>
>>109541726
>Sure thing! According to the relevant bug reports this issue has been around since 2013 and unfortunately still hasn't been fixed upstream. At this point there isn't much you can do on the Linux side. For this particular task the most practical option may be to use Windows. If you'd like I can walk you through setting up a Windows/Linux dual-boot configuration so you can keep Linux as your primary OS.
T-Thanks!

Which LLM hallucinated that? Mint's packages are old. It's a great distro for your drunk aunt who only needs Facebook, YT, and Hotmail.

Stop sking ai for suggestions you fucking retard.

mint has always been recommended as the windows replacer, something you dont need to fuck a lot with to have a proper os experience. now troonix fags denounce it and want you to install some obscure shit where nothing works

according to who? it's based on a 2 year old version of ubuntu

Cachy/Bazzite/Nobara/Pop!_OS are better suited for games than Mint.

I've been gaming on mint for over a year with no issues though?

bro, open up the steam page and literally there's a huge sign that says if it works on the steam deck or not (even if it says partial compatibility, that's still full compatibility on your PC, because it's just the letters being too small or something gay like that)
>>

popos is ubuntu retard, and so is mint, its same shit
>>
for me linux used to be like that, but these days i simply expect games to work, since they nearly always do. not like the old days where you had to look up tests on appdb to find out what to do to make a game work well for just about every game.
granted i don't play as many games nowadays, but i can't remember the last time i had to put any effort into running one at this point.
>>
>>109541668
Mint is not good for games. No vrr, no HDR, outdated mesa drivers
>>
mint is one of those distros where trolling doesn't result in better assistance.

>mint is shit for games

yep

>mint packages are ancient

yep

>mint is shit and you fags shouldn't use it

skill issue

Try Ubuntu. They have a stackoverflow type community you can go to that's not full of AI answers.

Show me any evidence where /g/ said this.
>>109542462
>she thinks real Linux users need AI
It's the wintoddlers that need it, Linux users just use their OS for work and games. It's the equivalent of googling how to change your default browser, some people need handholding and other people just do it because they know how to use a computer. It's fine if you need handholding and AI is the modern way of doing it, but not everyone needs that.

Works on my machine. You sure it's not skill issue?
>>
>>109541668
no, mint is for retards with ass computers. If you want something simple and more up to date, just try fedora. Most games run perfectly via proton there
>>
>>109541668
Should have just installed fedora. Mint is for outdated hardware.

>nobody has ever recommended mint for gayming bud
Pewdiepie did since that's what he used, and he's the only reason gaymers started flooding into Linux in the first place. After he made a viral video about how great Linux gayming was for him (on Mint), every other content creator followed to try and get views.

does it have anticheat? no? you can play it through wine or proton. yes it has anticheat? which one?
it's not that hard bro.
>>
>>109553170
You should never be using a distro that isn't rolling release in general. Arch or Artix depending on your autism/schizo level are the only distros that matter in the big 2026

there's no such thing as "work" on a computer

Can't tell if paid shill or retard. I haven't run into a single issue running games. If you want to play multiplayer anticheat sloppa then you might be out of luck.
I'm not on Mint though *tips fedora*

>install mint because apparently great for gamers
It's usually recommended as the simplest distro even your mom can learn to navigate, not as a gaymer distro. That being said I don't see why you could not game on it just fine.
>>
>>109553403
Shill then. Hope you at least get paid decently.
