how much do you spend a month/year on IT services such as cloud storage, vpn, etc?

I spend about 23 bux a month for proton Workspace Standard (VPN, 1 TB and some fluff like password manager etc) and iDrive 5TB. I could drop the iDrive, but I don't like to have all my eggs in one basket, so I have 2 different back up providers, plus I need decent VPN service.

It seems like a lot of money, but I don't wanna risk losing all my data when my hard drives break or my house gets burglarized. (unlikely, but possible)

I feel a bit ambivalent about it all, sometimes I want to cancel everything to frugal maxx, but then I get worried and cancel the cancellation and keep it.

it's tax deductible for my business so it's not really a big deal, but still, I don't feel completely fine with paying 23bux a month and probably it will get more expensive with inflation

what do you do

Switch to anually subscriptions to save serious money

I'm usually all for taking control and doing it yourself but honestly dude just stay with the setup you have. If cost and redundancy for backups are your concerns ~20 bucks a month is about as cheap as you can hope to get. Technically you could achieve better $/month ratio with external hard drives and just a VPN subscription but only if you value your own time rotating drives between locations so you have physical redundancy at 0$ an hour.
Basically unless you have a cost free pre-existing PC or server offsite where you could pop in a dedicated backup drive or two just don't bother and with current HDD prices it's just not cost efficient.

I pay 30 euros a year for 1fichier, which provides 4tb of cold storage

They still offer those deals to new customers? I thought they shut them down a while ago.

I have annual subscriptions thats part of the reason why I have "good" prices, but I was calculating it to a monthly cost
