They completely lie about your qualifications and experience>they coach you on how to lie through interviews as well>once you get an actual job, they take 15% of your salary as repayment for their serviceAnyways, I'm desperate as hell and I also hate the process of mass applying to 1000 companies. I honestly don't give even a single fuck about lying or cheating to get hired somewhere. I'm also okay with giving them 15% of my salary if they can actually get me placed somewhere. The only thing is I'm not sure how legit they actually are. Back in the day I recall seeing posts online from people who reported actually successfully getting jobs through these Indian scammers. But I don't see anything recent. Seems like they literally borrow your identity to do interviews, do stuff like have you wear a headset during interviews and feed you the answers and have you just lip sync, also apparently they make a fake job experience through shell companies they own so that during background check, theyll have one of their Indians vouch for you and provide high regards. Everything about it is a scam and probably illegal as it constitutes fraud. The only question I have is if they can actually get results. I don't care how unethical it is to be entirely honest. This industry is a shitshow and I'm more than willing to play dirty. But I won't risk it if they aren't even effective.

You're expected to know both and the trade offs of using one over the other. In this case it's somewhat of a trick question because you can't actually make an LRU cache concurrent as both reads and writes require updating the order of the underlying linked list, so what was expected of me was to use the older GCD framework to route all reads and writes through a synchronous serial queue (similar to a mutex) to prevent data races when multiple threads try to access the cache.

>>109553493what risks? just fire them after 1 week if they are bad
>>109555885this >>109554779
>>109555885kek based is this the new jeet meta? I would love to try it sometime if people couldn't just google my name and see where I work in reality
>>109570267No, it's the good old "fake it until you make it".Learn how to bullshit your way through the interview process, then learn all the things you missed while working (it's especially easier now with "AI").
Have you upgraded your bus driving skills?
>>109554732>respectable school or possible fellow alumni in the companyput it second>any other caseput it second to last
>>109553216Because America is the best market in the world for IT workers chasing high income, there's no other country with salaries this high, not even in Switzerland IT is paid this well (and in Switzerland you will also have to know one of the local languages, so it's actually worse). Given that outsourcing is easy and America has had relaxed rules on importation of skilled labour for decades, the labour market favours employers who have access to unlimited worldwide pool. I live in Germany and most IT jobs there are shielded behind knowledge of German. How many non-German programmers in the world speak fluent German??? And then add that German IT is also paid poorly, so the competition for the shit IT jobs in Europe is much smaller.
Give me one reason why I shouldn't just do the online masters in CS at CU Boulder? It's all coursera courses at your own pace, there's no admission requirements, it only costs $15k, and the degree you get is the exact same one as the traditional on campus masters degree, so I would have a masters in CS from the 34th top ranked CS school (tied with Northeastern and Virginia Tech) to put on my resume.
>>109570531>the interview processthe interview process is piss easy because I'm actually good at what I do. the problem is getting the interviews.last time I tried applying I had something like 5% response rate to applications and 70% chance to get an offer from a company that actually responded, out of 120 applications or so
>>109570926Bisqwit-pilled
>>109571885>it only costs $15k>only>$15k
>>109571885because nobody cares about a masters degree and especially if its a fake online degree. go ahead and get one its just going to further put you into debt for no gain.it might help you get ahead on AI filtering but no human in the process will care if you have an online masters. even if you had a real one it doesnt benefit you much.
>>109572214it has to be a shill post with how obtuse that line is
>>109572214A masters degree usually costs $70k.>>109572225Did you read my post? It literally is the same exact degree as the traditional on campus degree. Nobody will ever be able to know that you did the online version of it.
>>109572214less than 2 months salary for most people itt
>>109572243>Nobody will ever be able to know that you did the online version of it.>Hey, what's with all these drooling autistic NEETs with University X degrees all of a sudden?>*quick lookup* Oh I see, they sell discount online diplomas now, lmao>intothetra.sh
>>109572291If that's the case, then why is the school still ranked #34 nationally in CS masters programs?
>>109572306Is that what you're gonna ask every recruiter you get rejected by?
>>109572125>the interview process is piss easy because I'm actually good at what I do. the problem is getting the interviews.I'm the opposite I get messaged by recruiters and offered interviews in linkedin but get filtered hard because I haven't grinded the interview metapolish your linkedin profile is my advice
>>109572322Just so you know, UIUC also offers an online masters in CS on coursera and that's literally a top 10 CS school currently ranked #5. Georgia Tech has one too. Are recruiters going to throw away any resume with a CS degree from those schools too?
>>109572243>>109572306if they spend 5 seconds googling they will be able to tell it offers an online masters. if they actually cared and you arent living in commuting distance, it will be very obvious.is this a shill or just a delusionally hopeful post? the market is fucked and nobody is hiring. taking on more debt for CS is probably one of the worst ideas you can do.maybe if you had multiple years of experience and were doing it to stack your resume and get higher on AI screen its minorly useful. i dont know about 15k useful.cs degrees are so retarded and inflated now. literally everyone has one. i had an actual granny classmate in a senior level cs course.
>>109572382>maybe if you had multiple years of experience and were doing it to stack your resume and get higher on AI screen its minorly useful.I already have job as a SWE but no CS degree, so that's exactly the reason why I'm doing it.
you grind leetcodeI grind AI assisted coding challenges where I solve complex bugs in an existing codebasewe are not the same
>>109572363I don't know, why don't you spend a few years of your life doing it and find out? Worst case scenario you're only gonna be burned out, older, in debt, and even less employable due to a lack of actual skills.
>>109571885a master doesnt help you get a job it helps getting promoted. Same with a phd outside some highly competitive niche. So if you are seeking a job 15k is invested better elsewhere maybe in certs for cloud stuff.t. neet with msc
>>109572642>Same with a phdyou don't know shit about fuck, underageb&a phd lands you in an entirely different career track and you can't really go back. but if you're the type of person to go for a phd then it's probably the only kind of career you can tolerate anyway.
>>109572746>you can't really go backnot really true. plenty of non-cs STEM PhDs pivot to software engineering or atleast used to
>>109572782you can pivot but you will have a far easier time landing an R&D type role or moving straight towards a management type roleit's going to be difficult to go back to a regular line codemonkey role, both in terms of getting an interview and actually tolerating the job.from my last round of job applications most of the companies I heard back from were basically looking for someone to either work on R&D type projects or in some cases kickstart a whole new product line with a technology they haven't previously used much.
>>109548273I would tongue her cunt
>>109550471Sitting on your ass for days on end without much to do.>but what if shit goes downIt won't.
>>109563461>>109563684Is this supposed to be bait? Who is still able to get multiple jobs when even fagman engineers are struggling to find work now?
>>109550797Salty coins, bags of sand
>>109554526HHGGHHGGH HRRRRR HGHHGNMN HMMMMM PFPFPF!!
>>109554961Why are you samefagging like a desperate twat?
>>109573180Third worlder here, US companies are outsourcing their AI transformation to us, I dont think I seen a single american software engineer in the company I work with
>>109569599No, DSA is what takes 2-3 weeks to learn by itself if you already have a good programming background. All of the other shit about concurrency and thread safety is it's own topic. If you've already made a few apps and have never used a linked list you should be able to implement an LRU cache with the shit o(n) method of removing from an array and appending it to the end.
told my dad im learning rust and he's begging me to stop and go learn c++ instead so i can get a job. fucking luddite doesn't know shit about memory safety and optionals
how do I fake CAD and FEM experience? I am not bad at build123d semi experienced in freecad but no idea about FEM and no access to tools such as ansys or fusion360.
>>109573528learning all the data structures and their complexities at a level where you can actually use them off the cuff takes 1-2 semesters of an intensive college class it's not a matter of 2 weeks
>>109575169>and optionalsstd::optional>memory safetyjust don't be retarded and use smart pointers if you're just doing application level code>but muh low level rust low level requires doing everything of note on an unsafe block anyway
>>109575362>not bad at build123d semi experienced in freecadso you don't have any cad experience. solidworks takes months of self inflicted torture to wrap your head around.
>>109575730People still use that? I assumed everyone had moved to onshape if they weren't using something goofy from Autodesk or SWEs who think they can hack it with OpenSCAD.
What if I’m not supposed to be spending my prime productive years in a warehouse
>out work 9 (nine) fjcking years>no real reason except money saved up from military stint, some money monthly from veterans disability, cheap rent renting from family>random ass long stints of binge drinking, heavy weed smoking, weird periods of abusing pills (free from the va)>no degree but working on comptia main 3 certsone of my buddies has worked in helpdesk, network/server tech roles said I should be fine, I shouldn't worry about the gap but he has literally like 13 years in various IT roles so he is just giving his experience. I feel insanely fucked and don't know how to answer for that time period. I was kind of hoping on getting a job somewhere I can get cozy with the manager and have them lie and say I worked wherever longer than I did. I mean 9 years is fucking insane and its probably going to be another 2 months before I finish these certs. am I just an anxious guy or what do you guys think I should do
