What happens to software copyright in the age of AI?
There's no meaningful way in which your vibecoded slop can be considered your own, surely?
Have legislators caught up?

>Have legislators caught up?
Do they ever?
>>
Nobody should own any software.
>>
>Have legislators caught up?
Nah, they touch to many kids to keep up with that.
Also, you shouldn't want that.
>>
The US copyright office already set things in stone like 3 years ago for how it all works, but everyone ignored it because they didn't like the answers and now everyone pretends it's all perpetually vague and undecided upon and the lawsuits are going to be here any second now!
>>
>>109554385
please elaborate
>>
>>109554342
>>109554369
it is possible that the courts will decide that the aislop companies have the rights to what they generate
apparently were in a process of deciding the liability question
and thats problematic because liability implies a concept of ownership

If you can press a button and own a picture then you can own AI code.
Now fuck off.

Its the age of bespoke software. Whatever youre doing software wise, $ have to live in new features and updates, not general subscriptions. Ive used AI to bypass paywalls for peoples tools, and now have to accept whatever I make will be cracked also

everything is also effectively open source now, since ai can reverse basically anything in a week.
>>
>>109554494
for most software, cracking it wasn't that difficult to begin with. that's why everything moved to saas cloudshit. the new question is why would anyone pay for your saas cloudshit, when they can vibecode the same functionality.
>>109554571
we're talking about software here. how can you say you have copyright over something you didn't write?

>>109554516
nobody ever gave a fuck about your cuck licenses.
if you post your code on the internet it's free real estate.
>>
>>109554646
you're fundamentally misunderstanding the question.
you closed source fags just lost all rights to your software because you didn't write it, Anthropic did.
>>
>>109554680
damn, if only there was something about this in the terms of service. oh wait, there is.
>As between the parties and to the extent permitted by applicable law, Anthropic agrees that Customer (a) retains all rights to its Inputs, and (b) owns its Outputs. Anthropic disclaims any rights it receives to the Customer Content under these Terms. Subject to Customer’s compliance with these Terms, Anthropic hereby assigns to Customer its right, title and interest (if any) in and to Outputs. Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services. “Inputs” means submissions to the Services by Customer or its Users and “Outputs” means responses generated by the Services to Inputs (Inputs and Outputs together are “Customer Content”).

in a sense it is but no court is going to judge them harshly for it too much money riding on this baby they will just let it limbo. If you however dare to pirate something you will experience the full might of the US.

nigger who the fuck cares
muh software copyright has always been a meme. if you publish it I'm taking your shit. if you don't publish it i'm reverse engineering it.
yes i would download a car
>>
>>109554862
no way someone who's capable of RE cant understand the basic legal implications of that shit

i call LARP/summerfaggotry
>>
>>109554883
the legal implications are irrelevant because the legal system works for the richer party. (you) pirating movies is bad because riaa/mpaa is stronger so you pay fines.
ai companies pirating shit is fine because they're the stronger party than some random software shop or some bullshit license on github
the legal implications is that license washing is necessary for US ai models to work, and codeslop generation is responsible for a good chunk of US ai labs' funding. destroying this would destroy the labs, which are deemed of importance by US government, so it will never happen

>>

AI art does the same thing.

>>
>>109555466
Lmao. They pay proportionally less. If a regular person pays, say, 40% and a rich bozo pays maybe 10%, what do you think happens when 40%gger cumulative earnings drops? It's gonna be less tax bux in the vault. Neets go down with everyone else.

The most complete reversing project for that I found was https://github.com/gta-reversed/gta-reversed. It's not finished and it doesn't even seem to be AI generated as it has been in development for over five years. Any other examples?
>>
If I vibeslop a video and upload it to YouTube, will it get inundated by endless Content ID claims? That is something that everyone should consider, before they just plop a one-shot prompt into Sora.
>>
>>109555466
Yeah, because rich people have hoarded so much wealth that whatever they pay in taxes is more than whay the rest of the population can afford to pay without literally dying. Looked at another way: if wealth was perfectly equally distributed, everyone would contribute the same.

Besides, rich people have so much that giving away the vast majority doesn't meaningfully change their quality of life. If a billionaire was taxed 90% out of his wealth as a one off, he'd still have a hundred millions at minimum, which functionally means he'd still be obscenely rich. If anyone like the vast majority of people here (statistically), that barely manages to save a few hundreds a month gets taxed any % more, it's probable he won't make ends meet.

That propaganda line of yours isn't the own you think it is.
>>
>>109554772
Anthropic can absolutely throw that into a garbage bin but right now and in the near future (say at least a year or two) they will not. Their current business model requires their consumers to have a faith in the product. If the users were to believe , that they can not own the code and therefore can not commercialize it, they wouldn't be paying for subscriptions, especially for the higher tier ones and clearly will not continue, when Anthropic raises prices. And being a startup company , they need a good public image and lots of goodwill. There's reason Google kept "don't be evil" motto for so long.

But understanding this, requires a brain not composed of vibe-matter. And since you are lacking one, you end up like this >>109555433

Anons >>109554815 and >>109555046, are absolutely right. Promises made, don't matter. They can be broken without being held.
