Helix is better at everything except the keybinds which they decided to reinvent for literally no reason
>>

emacs is for actually thinking to turn C into a lisp experience
it's not comparable to take its literate meta programming approach to the speedrun kungfu keyboard approach
>>
Vim's modal paradigm forces your brain to operate as a continuous state machine: What mode am I in? Which register holds my copy? How many lines down is my motion target? Did my macro record correctly on iteration 37? Every action relies on precise visual spatial tracking and rigid modal awareness. When you're managing complex C boilerplate, that spatial tracking turns into pure mental fatigue.
Emacs replaces spatial tracking with semantic intent. That's not all, sirs, maine yeh jute ek beghar aadmi se kharide dhe

Helix doesn't get to compete with the big boy until they finish and merge the plugin system.

I only use my computer now for coding and job interviews. I just use my phone these days for most of my daily tasks and my Switch for gayming. Though back when I was a l33t haxor larper, I used neovim to aura farm, kind of miss the awe of juniors and seniors alike. Had my own custom setup with trees, tabs, code traverse, etc... and all.
>>
>>109564290
I also use nano for most of my minor edits.

At work I use whatever my employer wants us to use, I really couldn't give less shits about what decoration my text input has.
At home I use Zed because I like it; it's fast and has good support for most of the stuff I use built in.

I use emacs or helix (or vim) depending on the context. I'm used to any of them so it doesn't really matter but I generally prefer the emacs control scheme/keybindings to modal bullshit.

why do people turn into normies?
how does one become so soulless
is this what happened to the 4chinz userbase?

I don't want to choose either modal editing or an editor extensible in lisp dialect.

au contraire, the text editor I've been using doesn't waste my time and has been great for decades.

Vis feels like a step in between Helix and Vim the same way Helix feels like a step in between Kak and Vim. It has the advantage of being more familiar if you already know Vim well.

>Get microslop grabage ass ide cause retards at work can't properly set up their work env properly
>"Here's your builtin ai with some useless features"
>"Look at our ai plugin, you can chat with the ai here!"

Literally giving heroin to down syndrome babies, my team lead and his genx friends were already useless beforehand, now they have an ego masturbator built into their ide?

Swear to god some people need to go back to editing text with notepad

Because you eventually just b wasn't something that just werkz. Also this antagonism towards modern ides is kind of confusing to me. Stuff like Intellij and VS code is exactly what Emacs would turn to today if it wasn't bagged down by orthodox free software ideology.

intellij is a piece of slow crap with shit LSP that even my crappy javascript neovim plugin beats. By default it looks like ass and I have to keep changing it to the old theme aswell. If you want "just werkz" geany, kate, even gedit "werkz" a thousand times better than these telemetry infested corpo editors, and are "modern"

I don't use ancient hardware. Besides I prefer convenience over something loading 0.5 seconds faster.
>geany, kate, even gedit
I've tried all of them, they're honestly unusable trash lacking basic features not usable beyond basic script kiddiying

Also as a software dev, most of my job is reading, writing and maintaining code that some jeet wrote or spic wrote 10 to 20 years ago. Its usually bogged with files stretching above 1000 lines with incompatible library and programming language versions and all which modern ides make an easy breeze.
I didn't feel the need to adopt an ide and just use my neovim setup during my college days because most of the stuff I worked on were written by me and I could easily navigate between the files and code.
