Are there ANY work opportunities in software without AI or am I just fucked?
>>
>>109565235
Yes, but you can't really tell before you get hired and pretty much everyone is retarded about LLMs right now. It will normalize in a few years. They won't go away tho, just just won't need to use them in retarded and excessive ways abd overelying on them will be seen badly
>>
>>109565235
You’re fucked because nobody needs codetrans anymore
Ai is here to stay and it has replaced thousands of coders
>>
>>109565262
Insane cope
Sorry kike, the days of slaving away for 40 hours a week doing tedious busywork for shit wages are over
You can of course continue wasting your time like that, by all means.
It would be really satisfying if leftists ultimately just end up enslaving themselves as the ultimate and final virtue signal. Just remember: you deserve it.
>>
>>109565283
>>109565293
don't listen to this retard OP, LLM code still sucks
>>
>>109565310
Then why does it work?
>>
>>109565235
>>109565262
>>109565310
>I want to work in the tech industry but I don't want to keep up with the latest technological advancements.
Sorry but that's not how this works.
>>
>>109565327
It can oneshot a tiny project and you can even expanding for a few more prompts. Development slows to a crawl for anything large and non-trivial because the code is pure trash. It seems to work =/= it's good or even decent
>>
>>109565337
This. Its fucking embarrassing.
>>
>>109565337
It's like telling a woodworker to work in a furniture factory.
>>
>>109565353
Not if you have an iq above 100 and can actually create some basic common sense architecture.
Surely you can do that, right mouth breathing obese redditor dumbass?

>>
>>109565358
Your shitty slow ass code isnt woodworking. You arent a respected and admired craftsman.
You’re a fat autist will an ego problem, no one gives a shit.
>>
>>109565365
why are there no good vibecoded projects then?
>>
>>109565373
I don't think you understand the point I'm making. I just have no interest in vibe coding. It's not a thing I enjoy like I enjoy actual coding. I'm not going to make a career out of it. So what should I do instead?
>>
>>109565374
I see them every fucking day dude. Just because you're too stupid and lazy to participate in the modern technology landscape doesn't mean it doesn't exist. go back to playing your gay switch games and leave the industry to the actual adults please.
>>
>>109565235
Are there opportunities in building chariot wheels?
Adapt or get replaced.
>>
>>109565384
I don’t care what you do, the world doesnt revolve around you. I went to school to be a painter. Well no one gives a fuck abiut that shit and the hours are insane and soul crushing, so I became an animator. Well now thats going to die too so now I’m my company’s AI expert and built our own local AI server and department wide agent, and I’m having a lot of fun with it.
Get over yourself, or don’t, I don’t care and neither does anyone else.
This is how the world works.
When I was a kid my dream was to be a sign painter. This was a real and legitimate career in the 1920’s. Well guess what? Thats not a thing anymore. Move on or cling on to something irrational, your choice.
>>
>>109565235
Spend you money on tokens to make software instead of an education and hoping for a job in software
>>
>>109565384
If you're new to this board you won't know this, but there's a schizo that posts snails with cat heads and makes inflamatory posts shilling for vibe coding all day long. It probably is a bot. Maybe not all, but most posts in this thread that claim hand coding is outdated are from him/it
>>
>>109565424
I'm glad you're having fun playing around with your toys, anon.

Based anon.
And don't feel bad about your painter dreams.
Even George Lucas admits the same thing. And he made the greatest movies ever.
>>
>>109565431
This is an insane and irrational thing to both believe and say, and the fact you’re not ashamed to say this just shows how stupid you are.
I never realized how full of absolute midwit npcs this board was until this AI hate shit started, its extremely pathetic.
>>
>>109565433
I’m paid to play with comfyui, its fucking great.
Stop being a whining bitch and maybe you can enjoy life again too.
>>
>>109565446
Ever since AI has become prolific misinformation has become rampant, and people's critical thinking, reading, and writing skills are rapidly degrading.
>>
>>109565457
>I'm paid to play around with toys
Good for you, anon.

>>109565459
Because no one ever lied before AI? On a massive scale? Lol, piss off.
>>
>>109565442
And he’s 100% right.
Midwits think they control how this stuff develops, they don't realize how unimportant they are, which is a common trait of the stupid. They’re literally always like this and always have been.
>>
>>109565459
Misinformation has been rampant since the invention of mass media, and went exponential with the TV.
You’re a little off on the timeline, sport.
>>
How does society solve the arrogant midwit dumbfuck problem?
We shouldn't have to waste time explaining basic shit to billions of what would otherwise be considered stupid angry animals.
>>
>>109565474
>>109565484
It's gotten so much worse because of AI. People are taking in information as (potentially unreliable) blurbs instead of reading in detail and synthesizing a summary for themselves. Ergo, critical thinking is disappearing.
>>
>>109565470
Isnt that exactly the thing you said you wanted to do though?
>I want to code slowly because I enjoy the craft
Ah yes, you’re having fun with your outdated toy. Thats nice, I’m just telling you its now going to be phased out, and I’m correct.
>>
>>109565504
It already disappeared, thats why women have been considered “equals” for a century
You’re literally, actually too stupid to engage with.
>>
>>109565512
If AI code truly is better than I'll just not go into the tech sector at all.
>>
>>109565519
Case in point: you.
>>
>>109565532
Dumbfuck leftist cockroach detected
>>109565523
If you’re still starting out and on the search for a career path you need to weigh ai and its implications very heavily in your decision making process. It is going to influence every sector in a significant way.
>>
>>109565552
It just turns out that almost every AI evangelist I run into is inarticulate and lacks critical thinking. I'm not going to argue about women's rights either way, but bringing it into an argument about AI and literacy is a complete non-sequitur.
>>
>>109565567
I owned your ass faggot, shut the fuck up and jump off your nearest rooftop.
>>
>>109565374
who said something about vibecoded? AI-assisted and human reviewed is not "vibecoded" and still significantly faster than coding without AI. the quality is up to the reviewer.
>>
>>109565235
why would you not want to work with AI lmao
>>
>>109565855
I just don't like using it.
>inb4 just do it for the money bro
I can't. I just can't motivate myself to do that.
>>
>>109565869
>I prefer spending more time to earn my shitty wage instead
Shekelberg wishes every goy was like you
>>
>>109565235
You're fucked until the bubble bursts
>>
>>109565424
>I went to school to be a painter
lol retard
>>
Unless there's some massive efficiency breakthrough AI is gonna die by itself just based on the fact it's too expensive to run
>>
>>109565293
>Kike calling others a kike
So in your fantasy everyone's unemployed and then gooning to furry porn? Still have yet to see a viable "AI" product.
>>
>>109566259
Been saying this for some time. It's overpriced right now, and people are paying maybe 3-5% of the true cost to generate incomprehensible slop. It's going to completely die when the cost shoots up 20-30x. Just hoping to ride it through with a data eng or related career path since they will be needing a ton once companies move to open source models
>>
>>109565374
I genuinely believe tech is just inundated with retards because any one with a pulse was getting hired to write angular/react slop until 2022. Insane how many seniors and above can't code.
>>
>>109566281
On the flip side, there's gonna be a lot of spare Ram, storage and GPU's on the market once they flop. Only other option they have is somehow getting big daddy government to start building more more power generation grids, namely nuclear as that has by and large the greatest yield.
>>
>>109565358
If you want to try being an independent artisan codeworker then be my guest, but don't expect anyone to give a shit or pay for your labor.
>>
>>109566533
Missed the point award
>>
>>109567201
No I didn't. You are just dumb.
>>
>>109567286
Why would a woodworker have any interest in working at a factory? It's a completely different job. Whether AI replaces software developers or not, it's an entirely different job.
>>
>>109567305
>Why would a woodworker have any interest in working at a factory? It's a completely different job.
Ok then go be woodworker. Have fun.
>>
>>109565414
>hurr durr adapt hurr!!!
Adapt to what? A manufactured weapon of mass dumbing down? I don't think so, now kill yourself.
>>
>>109567305
The woodworker still needs to pay the bills. The only jobs are factory jobs. Software developers just feel entitled to the wealth of others because they have had it good for so long—AI changes the equation. No one is entitled to the wealth of others and it is time for software developers to wake up and understand that they can either take a risk—start a business—or they wan accept destitution like all the other useless eaters.

Maintaining legacy software is the best job.
You really shouldn't have spent all that time chasing shiny new fads.
>>
>>109567338
Enjoy your violent revolution then
>>
>>109567338
>they can either take a risk—start a business—
em dashes in an objectively stupid reply
yep, I'm thinking it's a "vibegod" lol
>>
Where do you guys find actual good senior devs for hire who are not slopbrain promptjeets?
They seem to be impossible to find. Not sure I still believe these supposed layoff stories. Who did they lay off exactly? A bunch of jeets?
>>
>>109565235
Government maybe? Some smaller banks? But yeah you can’t escape it for the most part. I’m so glad I’m just a few years from retirement.
>>
>>109567387
What kind of company are you hiring for? Do you use AI at all?
>>
>>109567396
Jesus how old are you
>>
>>109567569
41
>>
>>109567690
Oh so you're just retiring early? How much do you have invested?
>>
>>109567766
Around 1.5 million or so. I figure with some careful planning i can get to 2.5 in about 5-6 years. Then i can just do whatever. Maybe bartend, maybe just Dick around. But I’ll be free and i won’t have to deal with this massive shift that i don’t really like.
>>
>>109566226
I’m still an employed creative
What cool story arc did you do with your life, stupid nigger?
>>
>>109567898
2.5 should be enough to live off indefinitely, if the stock market keeps going up, that is.
>>
>>109567923
Well yeah. Nobody can predict if the market just bottoms out and never recovers, but at that point, your concern is food and bullets. I put the odds of that very low (never 0).

The standard 3.5% withdrawal rate would give me about $80k/yr, increasing 2.5% yearly for inflation, and would have survived the Great Depression without much impact to principal. It’s a good target. I’d recommend to anyone.
>>
>>109567963
Japan's stock market has never recovered from the 1990s. It's not a given that we'll see infinite growth.
>>
>>109568052
we have not yet called the jews off of them for what they did to us in the 80s
>>
>>109568052
It’s not about infinite growth. It’s getting against total collapse. I’m still willing to make that bet.
>>
>>109568151
Yeah even if the market just stagnates you'll have 30-40 years of being pretty well off. Or you could just buy properties and rent them out.
>>
>>109568201
Definitely a possibility. I’m not going to do *nothing*, I’m just tired of AI, Jira, Outlook, fucking meetings.

Yes, you are as fucked as a bottom bitch.
There is no hope for you, and your unavoidable future is to become cannon fodder in WWIII.
