I posted on lmg and vcg, but I dont fuck around with AI chatbots/waifus enough so ill post here too .
I made a TTS app (opensource) that wraps 41 engines. Most repos cover a handful at best, and I got sick of remembering which tool did which voice well and jumping between them per project. Main difference is it's character-first, not engine-first: you save a character, build a library, and plug them into whatever engine suits the job.
►It has:
>auto voice binding for zero shot: feed it a file/dataset for a character and it binds across every available zeroshot engine and makes test samples, so you can hear which fits and set that engine as the default for that character
>API access for hooking it into other tools
>real-time voices with cloning for chatbots, plus decent presets
>diarizer: point it at a folder with a show/anime/whatever, it cleans it, splits by speaker (80-90%), works out who's talking and hands you samples. Works better than I expected, still a constant WIP
>full BTVA DB + AniList with database updating, if I can share it. Makes matching characters to VAs trivial, or finding their other roles ("Troy Baker as X is a thin sample, what else has he done?")

Manual way to do it:

"OOC: For the next message, summarize the story so far, being as detailed as possible, containing all the story elements, plot beats, characterization established in the story so far, so that an LLM can continue the story based on the summary and have all important information. Be as thorough and exhaustive as possible."

Then create new chat. Send summary as a user message (You can preface it with "Here's a summary of the story so far:" or whatever). Then continue roleplaying.

The main problem with this approach is that if you wait too long to summarize, the model might make summaries that are too condensed.

Back in the day, we just let old messages leave the context one by one when we reached the limit, lol. And the context size was only 4k tokens, and then 8k. We're so spoiled now. You can still do that (reduce your preset token limit to that of your provider), but it breaks prompt caching with every message, so it's not recommended.

Very much possible goym. Either with some very austic level of prompting or simply using existing frontends as reference. You can pretty much bang up your own frontend however you please. I threw on a Claude Code Pro plan and gave it instructions and direction with reference and now i have a frontend that suits my needs and has completely replaced SillyTavern for me. Though I find myself in a spiral of adding things before ensuring everything else is properly functioning and A/B tested- So I have some kinks to iron out but overall, it's allows me to have full control over the frontend.
