I haven't tried it so I can't attest to its quality, but NixOS does have an MCP, which should fix the issue of the LLM having out of date info.

So far GPT5.6 Sol has done well at doing all the config editing for me. It's a great combination because the LLM just needs to check a few files in a known location rather than running commands to see if something's installed.
