It just is.
It didn't do anything new at all, but that Ryuusuke Moriai guy created a perfect mix from design elements of the earlier similar models.
I really really wish there was a version/similar model with a countdown timer. W-202 just doesn't do it for me visually, plus I heard about it getting fucked by moisture 3 too many times, even though it's rated by Casio as more water resistant than F-91W.

The F-B100W may be coming to more markets soon. So far it's only available in the UK but it's basically the ABL-100 with the F-91W look and strap.

I considered it, along with a bunch of other models (W-202, LF-20/30W, WS-1600, AE-1300, LWS-2200, GMD-/GLX-S5600).
Ultimately yesterday I ordered a basic Square for a few practical and autistic reasons. Somewhat ironically, I'll wear it mostly at home and my F-91W mostly outside.
>>
>>109586658
I daily drive a GW-M5610U so I'm used to the square bulk. I'd be interested in the F-B100W though whenever it's available outside the UK. It's not ideal, it's "smart" features mostly suck and I prefer relying on DCF77 for time sync, but on the other hand it's like an F-91W with the types of modern Casio features and dial info that you'd expect.
>>
Convince me to buy a Cassio g shock instead of a smartwatch
>>
>>109586733
Smartwatch:
>a second smartphone for your wrist
>will bombard you with notifications
>will have to charge it every 1-2 days
>a lot of extra problems to deal with for little good functionality
>a second tracker for the feds that you now wear on your wrist
G-Shock:
>will only do what you want a watch to do: timekeeping
>Tough Solar+Multi Band 6 means it'll take care of itself
>10 years minimum battery life
>auto syncing and adjusting DST/leap year
>can dive with it no problem
>can slam it at the wall like it's nothing
F-91W:
>tough enough for every day use
>waterproof enough for every day use
>will have to manually adjust DST/leap time
>and occasionally correct the second drift
>dirt fucking cheap
>has a few less features than a G-Shock but still serviceable

Also all Casios will always display the time, no need to wake it to look at the time like with those glorified mini-smartphones. If you want something that tells you time, you get a Casio. I got my first one in high school when I got tired of having to pull out my smartphone every time I wanted to check the time.

not a g-shock but I bought an AE-1500 a month or so ago specifically because it *wasn't* a smart watch and I just wanted something to tell the time
frankly I never understood the appeal of smart watches; I feel like if you don't have easy access to your phone then you're probably doing something where you don't need the distraction anyway.

>how am i supposed to masturbate while looking at this screen?
If you angle it just right
you can see a reflection of your face.
>>
>>109586733
Aside from the fact they show time and have digital display there is nothing in common.
G-shock can show date and time have stop watch and alarm. Some have more than that but all G-shocks have this. This is set and forget. If the model is multi band 6, solar and gave non resin band it will last 20 years, you will get tired of using it.
Smart watch can do this and 100 other things but you have to charge it every 2-7 days depending on the model and the battery will crap itself in 5-6 years.

G-shock is what watch is with its features, durability, accuracy and convenience (no servicing) taken to the extreme.
Smart watch is small smartphone with fitness tracking you can put on your wrist. If you don't need the fitness functions get something else even if it not g-shock.

>>
>>109600329
No, because most of us aren't autists that read everything around the watch face in order before reading the time.
>>

I haven't heard of anyone that's been distracted by the dial when they wanted to read the time.

>>
>>109600492
It's part of the charm, and again, if that bothers you then you must be autistic+OCD and every time you look at a watch you have to read every single line of text before reading the time.
>>
>>109600492
>I typed out a whole argument but deleted because if my point isn't self-evident there's nothing else I can do.
I don't have that problem, so people having problems reading the time came across as completely unbelievable.

>ADS
For casio, the colors and shit are considered part of the styling.
Especially styling of that era.

As your tastes are different what watches do you like?
>>
>>109600522
>what watches do you like?
I don't need to know the time. Time is bloat. 90% of the times you look at a watch you don't get any actionable insight, watchfags are like addicts to me

This might be a retarded question but are there any dumbwatches with NTP sync? Analog or digital. I have a couple of watches I like but I don't wear them because it's a pain in the ass to manually adjust the time. I don't care if the battery life sucks, I don't wear my watches to sleep

Time sync, configuring the watch from your phone, step tracker. It's not a smartwatch by any stretch of imagination. There's no GPS, pulse meter, or anything that could be used to gather more data. Just a basic bitch accelerometer that's optional.

Also wear a MRW-200H regularly. I have some other, costlier watches, but those are more depending on a nicer occasion. Day to day it's usually the 5600 or MRW200H

>>109586733
Smart watch is annoying tech. Want another thing buzzing at you that you need to charge? No thanks. At some point I need less tech, not more.

G-Shock (let's assume the basic G-Shock 5600) has more features than the F-91W but it's not exactly a Swiss Army knife, either.

The F-91W isn't exactly fragile, but the G-Shock will take anything you could throw at it. Personally I think it looks better too.
