I released my new CI/CD scheme at work. The CI system now creates the next release candidate branch automatically. I have it do rc-vx.y.z-{name}, where x.y.z is whatever the next minor ver is, and {name} is the next entry in a file called release-candidates.txt
{name} is the human-readable name for the RC so we don't have to say "0.5.0"; we just say the RC name, which is alphabetical. Took that from Ubuntu. My release candidate theme is Half-Life. Our first RC is rc-v0.5.0-Anticitizen-One
, then it will be rc-v0.6.0-Black-Mesa
, rc-v0.7.0-Crowbar
, etc. Heres the full RC name list - some letters were legitimately difficult to find so they're kinda weak.
