I have been following some topics on twitter for over a decade, because for better or for worse, it has been a pretty good place for people posting pictures. And even in 2026, you can still search for shit, filter for media and arrange the results chronologically. But it seems that people post less and less. It was already noticeable like a year ago, but just today I was easily able to just scroll a week's worth of posts on the search page. That was almost impossible even a year ago and not just due to spam (which has also increased).Afaict, people still post on instagram, but its search is and has always been shit. Youtube recentlyish removed the option to sort result chronologically ("don't come on youtube for breaking news"). Flickr still works, but either nobody uses flickr or nobody tags their shit on flickr, so it's undiscoverable.I don't really have much else to say about it. Twitter is dying?
