Seriously though, how many C users are even serious C users and not just "wheel re-inventors" who want bragging rights for using a "hard" language?
>>
You're correct that C is not hard.
What is actually hard is using some slop script with it's byzantine maze of decencies and libraries, and runtimes that require expert knowledge to disentangle when you step into a mine.
>>
>>109595357
seriously though, check out the vast code base written in c that runs the world since early 70s. c is here to stay just by virtue of its sheer momentum. don't worry lil fagget - you will die and c will march on.

>wheel re-inventors
this has less to do with C specifically and more to do with "low-level" programming of any kind. because you start with comparatively little, it makes it impractical for a lot of modern purposes. you see the same with rust. but that's exactly what makes "low-level" languages interesting in their own way.
>>
there's nothing hard about C
the language is tiny and there are libraries for everything

Bitching about C is usually omega cope from people who feel insecure about their language of choice. Real niggas are too busy shipping software in their preferred languages to waste time on this shit, as they enjoy programming more than they do arguing and posting bait.

C is often necessary for constrained environments like embedded devices/microcontrollers. Even linking the C++ STL or God forbid anything in Rust would make them OOM, so you use C. Otherwise, you might want a simple driver or program to use the absolute minimum resources possible. It really has very little to do with what you perceive as a social benefit or status game, and thinking that exposes you as only being able to conceive of programming that way.

I'll only be convinced C can be dropped if someone created something impressive with something else
>>

>because you start with comparatively little
why is that, though? a language that has been around for half a century should have a rich and mature ecosystem.
>>
>>109597260
Is GCC (written in C++) not "impressive" enough?
>>
>>109595357
The only use for C these days is as an inter-language protocol. It's simple, established, and generic enough (in that it maps closely to assembly languages) that it makes a reasonable choice for library APIs when a library is meant to be available to any language (which may then add a wrapper in its own language).

As far as actually writing programs in C, no, if you do that you have a mental disability.

>complex concepts are midwit
anon, this is why we keep going regressing, you can't understand what is going on, so when a "midwit" explains the process you fail to grasp its genius, which has been hidden by higher level languges.

i dont mind there being higher level languages, but it makes midwits (i.e. YOU) think they're smarter than the people who's shoulders they're standing on.

learn your place, or be reminded of it at an Inopportune time

I would look within yourself. this seems to be more about your own insecurities than about anyone else's behavior

nano hydroxyapatite is better its the same material teeth are actually made of, which has started to take off with some small brands in england in the last couple of years there is a japanese brand called apagard who has been using it for like 20-30. i wonder if they had a patent or something
>>
>>109595357
C programmers invented the wheel. Ergo, they cannot reinvent the wheel, because they cannot reinvent what they already invented.

C is not hard, its the best high lvl language, i use it because it works as you would expect it to.

It has it, and that ecosystem is called C++

Overcomplicating things that have been solved decades ago is a Unix staple.
I wish those people at least understood that these toys they are making should never, ever be run in production, but no...
