mom tried to clean it with vinegar and water (idk how she came up with that solution) and it seems there's no return path to original.
coffee tastes like absolute shit now. i tried to clean it with an alcohol and water and it got better but it's still trash.
i feel like a complete moron. i can't fix a simple coffee machine
>>
i mean, she tried to "clean" (it was not fucking dirty... fuck, women can be retarded sometimes) with a vinegar+water solution, making the solution run where normal water runs
>>
Using vinegar is a common way to descale. Just run plain water through it a few times and it should be fine.
>>
retarded junkie, most coffee machines need to be descaled periodically with white vinegar.
just keep running hot water through it, it should go back to normal. if not then it's a chance for you to throw it away and work on fixing your drug addiction.
>>
>>109595960
yeah but coffee tastes awful. in my dads machine coffee comes out with nice flavour.
i guess mom's machine is just old
>>
>>109595969
nigga it tastes fucking awful now, i think imma throw it away and buy a new one.
>>
>>109595960
Exactly, OP is a fucking moron.
>>
>>109595997
why does it taste like shit now then
>>
>>109595932
This is how you clean it. (I use straight vinegar.) Then run water through it a couple times.
>>
maybe there's a freaking bug in the machine hahahah coffee from this particular machine tastes like armpits and vagina
>>
>>109596051
i was ok with the taste for a while cause i'm a man but it became annoying. i want to taste freaking coffee not vagina
>>
>>109596056
i want to taste a vagina
>>
>>109596006
Because you're used to drinking dirty disgusting coffee slop and can't appreciate what it should taste like?
>>
>>109595932
I hope you gave her a good spanking for that. Teach her to fuck with your shit.
>>
>>109596134
nigger, my dad's coffee machine with the same coffee produces chocolate like taste. not vagina or armpit taste.
>>
>waah my coffee maker is clean now and I won't run a few runs of water through it to clear out the vinegar
Not technology, Randal.
>>
>>109596191
i ran water thru it already
>>
OP if your coffee maker looks like pic related then she did you a favor. throw it away and get an espresso machine, scale, portafilter, hand crank grinder, and buy whole beans.
>>
Women are fucking stupid.
>>
That's the right way to clean it you ungrateful twat
>>
feet taste possible?
>>
op should kill himself
>>
>>109595923
>Telefunken
what a stupid sounding brand name
>>
>>109595923
did you try cleaning running baking soda water through it?
>>
>>109595923
>drip coffee
Ew...
Anyway just run a lot of water through the machine, all descaling options are just some form of mild acid anyway.
>>
Diluted white vinegar actually does effectively descale electric coffee makers. The problem is you have to run plain water at least twice after you run the vinegar. It sounds like a waste of electricity, but it works.

Make strong mix of water and citric acid
Brew it like 2 times
Then brew clean water through it, it will rinse itself.
>>
>>109595923
You sure she used food grade vinegar? Cause you can get cleaning vinegar too, maybe that's why it tastes bad. Should be gone after you run it with plain water a few times (2-4)
>>
>>109596708
yeah, I'm partial to citirc acid too
it's about as effective as vinegar and at least it doesn't have that odor
>>
>>109595923
>mom tried to clean it with vinegar and water (idk how she came up with that solution) and it seems there's no return path to original.
She did that because the manual told her to run a cleaning cycle with water and vinegar. You're supposed to use around 2/3 water and 1/3 distilled white vinegar.
Run another clean cycle with a filter in the basket and use only distilled water.
If there's no clean button then press and hold the power button for five seconds until the clean cycle starts. It takes about 45 minutes total.
Repeat as needed. I usually run two water only cycles after a clean cycle.
>>
Just get a cheap expresso machine. Coffee is crap.
>>
>>109598940
cheap espresso machines require a fair amount of trial and error and accessories that cost more than as much as the espresso machine just to get consistently good coffee, namely a good grinder, everything else is an afterthought, you cannot get good coffee from any method without a proper grinder costing between $100-300
>>
>>109595923
Run water a few times.
>>
>>109598940
A moka pot should be good enough.
>>
>>109595923
>>109595932
In my machine's manual it said to regularly descale it by running vinegar through it.

usecase of coffee machine? just use Frog Press, Paper Drip and Mokapot
>>
maybe your water is bad too? hard water is terrible for coffee and whatever filth used to be in the machine probably hid the taste.
>>
>>109595923
just buy a new one nigga wtf
>>
>>109595923
>mom tried to clean it with vinegar and water (idk how she came up with that solution)
Descaling using a weak organic acid is well known, even I know that. Vinegar and citric acid are the two most common acids for this perfectly normal routine.
>and it seems there's no return path to original.
Just rinses once or twice and it should be fine.
>>
you have to be 18 to post here

fag
>>
i'm a v60 nazi, not my problem
>>
>>109595923
>mom tried to clean it with vinegar and water (idk how she came up with that solution)
Yes, that is how you clean a coffee maker. Just boil water in it a few times, it goes away over time. Better yet, throw it in the trash. Buy a good stainless steel electric kettle and a ceramic coffee dripper. Simple to clean and you aren't poisoning yourself boiling water in a plaster container.
>>
>>109600663
Well, yes. Sorry I want to taste COFFEE.
>>
>>109600792
gay
>>
>>109595923
>(idk how she came up with that solution)
based mom decided to RTFM. Run some water through it a couple times, brew some coffee and dump it down the drain and it should be good after that
>>
>>109595923
you both seem pretty retarded. my coworker did this exact same thing to the coffee pot at work and it made the coffee taste noticeably better.
try killing yourself
>>
>>109596430
It's kino actually
>>
>>109595923
Step 1: Literally run it several times with clean water until odor and flavor go away
Step 2: Next time do it with citric acid wich is much less overwhelming

On a side note: Use a fucking AI to understand how mineral buildups and acids work chemically together you stupid retard. Your mom didn't do wrong at all.
>>
>>109601842
By 'run it' I mean 'make coffee' but without coffee, just plain water.
>>
>>109595923
as a last resort you can try baking soda and water
>>
>>109602148
i emphasize the last resort part as it might make it even worse
>>
>>109600792
if i had the option between tasting vagina or coffee i'd pick the vagina every time to be desu with you
>>
>dumbass probably lives in an area where water is hard af
Buy a new machine and only use distilled water you cheap faggot
>>
Use citric acid
>>
>>109595923
I clean my kettles with vinegar all the time and my hot water has never tasted like vinegar

maybe your mom used this weird shitty perfumed vinegar they sell at the store if thats the case tell her to stop and use the regular unmodified vinegar thats like 40 cents per litre, and keep rinsing it off the taste will go out eventually (had the problem once where my roommate used fucking "eucalyptus" perfumed vinegar to descale the faucet's tip and I couldn't drink water for a few days)

This is exactly what I've been looking for, thank you.
>>
>>109603448
it's not exactly a secret. off-the-shelf coffee machine descaler mixtures tend to use citric or lactic acid instead, though acetic acid (in vinegar) isn't uncommon either
>>
>>109599222
You can buy pre ground espresso coffee for cheap. You can also use your regular coffee grinder or a food processor you just need to run it longer and shake it. The expensive grinder thing is a meme.
>>
>>109604444
>The expensive grinder thing is a meme
I've been buying preground since I don't want to fork over for an expensive burr grinder. Maybe your sick quads will get me to switch to whole bean and pick up a cheap grinder
>>
>>109604817
nta but fresh ground coffee is better, but not "spend an extra 10 minutes of prep time per cup and/or have your neghbors shoot through your wall with a shotgun for having a cuppa at 4am" better

why do you guys involve so much plastic and electronics in your coffee?
>>
>>109605005
i just used a french press and kettle but then the kettle broke and one of those keurig cup things was 8$ but a new kettle was 12$ so...

Imagine thinking coffee making needs high tech shit.
Imagine crack/meth addicts buying electronic gadgets to create the THE BEST HIT. Just mix hot water and ground coffee and filter that shit, or consume it all, probably a lot of fibers in the grounds
>>
>muh bitter bean water
coffee tatses like shit no matter the method just take a caffeine pill like it's 2026 for gods sake
>>
>>109605395
i haven't taken a caffeine pill in like, 15 years, lol.

i'm by no means a coffee snob, most of the time i have an instant coffee in the morning, but properly made coffee is completely different. i almost don't want to get a proper coffee setup because i feel like if i did that i'd just ruin enjoying the occasional proper coffee. i'd raise my standards too much.

very funny thread
also coffee is indeed good for you, though it's heavily sprayed compared to other plants so consider buying organic
>>
>>109595923
It's in youe head, schizo.
