What music player does /g/ recommend?
>>
I've been using AIMP and it's pretty good.

fooyin or foobar2000.

on linux Strawberry is the least bad. Winamp runs well under WINE. pretty much everything else is flawed electron garbage.
>>
Strawberry + Nicotine+ for Soulseek.
>>
>>109597828
mpc is probably the best, imo. You can just control it with helper functions and wm keybinds, so that it's as if the music player were a seamless and fundamental part of your os. Realistically, though, I just use sox to play audio files.

>You can just control it with helper functions and wm keybinds
I'm not going to do that shit

"Music Player" software is not just an app that plays audio files it is something that can manage music as a library.

>Music
What a waste of fucking time.
Listening to music is one of the biggest signs you're a low IQ mongrel.
Use your time fruitfully, anon. Do something important or learn something useful.

>Inb4 I listen to music when working on X
So you're basically admitting you don't focus on whatever it is you're working on.
Both low IQ and incompetent.

you are literally making things up in your head and arguing with them. you are in no position to judge me.

why? that's a separate function better handled by separate software

mpd/mpc does that, though. You would use helper functions or scripts to use fzf or something as a more visual interface for browsing your library, building playlists, viewing the queue, etc. You could also use a while loop with sox to play any folder full of music. You can shuffle their contents with find | shuf and make playlists with symlinks.

mpd + ncmpcpp, Spotify web if I'm lazy
>>
>>109597916
The actual audio player isn't that important because there aren't that many adjustments you need to make, if any. It's not like video where MPV and its myriad plugins are actually useful. In the case of a music library application it would be silly to not have a built-in audio player.

I have many apps that can play audio files and that's great for a quick one-off. Listening to music has a different workflow which is why "Music Player" apps exist, separate from sound or audio file player. I shouldn't have to explain this to someone over 12 years of age.

Not if it’s classical music

All you did is prove that you have no idea what you’re talking about

NCmpc is a good one. I really like Ncspot for Spotify mostly because it gets rid of all of spotify's garbage. The mouse interface is nice for local music players though, since they aren't constrained by being megacorp web apps.

if you click on Library on the menu bar and select ReFacets it comes up in another window. if you want it in the main window, like how i have it, go to View -> Layout -> Edit Layout & type refacets somewhere in the layout. i can just copy paste my layout settings here if you want.

the lowercase ones are just old files that im hoarding after tagging the ones i listen to in uppercase. i love manually editing tags using kid3. i've been manually typing "WEB FLAC" or whatever in folder names for years and recently i set it up so that i just press the up or down arrows a couple times, it's wonderful

I use Spotify with the Spicetify stuff that turns ads off. The thought has occurred to me that I could have AI write me up a 7 day playlist for several radio channels I could run myself that follow proper rise and fall music patterns. Radio stations generally have music rise get more intense then have blowoff low bpm melancholic songs to "cool down." Also have it start doing down tempo stuff around bed time. Not sure what software I'd use to run the actual radio feeds, MPD can do it but its not really good at it.
