Since startpage sucks now what search engine should I use?
>>
>>109598049
They were never exactly good to begin with but why do they suck now? Did image search become even worse.. somehow?
>>
>>109598049
I switched to Brave search.
>>
>>109598063
Search results have been getting worse and now they have some proof of work captcha. I don't know when they switched it but it's slow as shit now and my past few searches don't even go through.
>>
>>109598049
There are no good search engines.
>>
>>109598049
perplexity.ai
you should absolutely try it
but dont tell normies bc if the userbase goes too high
were gonna have to pay for it
>>
>>109598193
>immediaely get pestered for an account
>ai
>pointless as shit frivolities
kill yourself. At this rate I might as well just switch to wiby if all search engines are this dogshit.
>>
wiby.org
>>
>>109598193
Isn't this the AI reddit loves talking about?
>>
>>109598219
>does his hidden shit on an overt connection
all you do is placebo, privacytrany
sure, they cant see whats on your computer
but they see everything that goes in and out because youre using their infrastructure, and the endpoint is attached to your name
youre ng fukken mi

fukken
>t. im in google's incognito mode so im untraceable
lamao

use an overt ip
input your fukken google
and dont try to make it say "nigger" bc thats retarded + over-done
>>

Brave or SearXNG

DDG has awful results from when I tried it
>>
>>109598268
brave is also shit
easy litmus test:
google for memes and youre gonna see it serves sanitized slop
shit's over.
>>
>>109598284
It’s just the least shit I’ve tried for alternative engines
>>
>>109598350
thats a way of putting it.

i dont even look up controversial shit anymore, because i everything i need to know
if you werent doing your googling before 2006
youre on a list

and for mundane shit, perplexity is pretty good
the llm interface allows you to be fuzzy in your search term
and it provides sources by default, automatically summarizing everything for you

or you use an untraceable ip with a burner machine, and then nothing matters
>>
Self host 4get and tune it however you want.
My personal config: Brave for web searches and Pinterest for images.
>>
>>109598049
what's wrong with it
>>
>>109598049
I was using ddg for years until I realized who the creator was. The game was rigged from the start. Used mojeek for a while but the results are terrible. Am considering going back to google under 3 layers of vpn. This is a good thread, gonna try a few suggestions here.
>>

Lycos
>>
using Qwant right now but it's probably not ideal
>>
>>109598903
Not OP but it doesn't work half the time now. Plus it does everything that it says it does not in their mission statements. It's a terrible search engine and I don't recommend anyone to use it despite it being my default browser on both my PC and phone. There are no good alternatives, especially not now when literally everything is just filtering results with AI giving misinformation.
>>
>>109598049
Based and Kohr-Ah pilled.
You should know the answer is to make your own web crawler.

This search engine sucks bro
>>
>>109598049
Bing unironically.

Otherwise just have ai make you a custom webcrawler and bust a nut wardialing .cn domains and then mail at McDonalds take a shit on the floor then grab it and huck it over the counter so it lands in the deep fryer
>>
>>109598268
DDG is the only one that works in a text browser, so that's a comfort to me.
Also, fuckin' github opens without issue on a text browser, but linuxquestions.org requires JS, as does SO now, which it didn't until recently.
>>
Did anyone try Kagi?
>>
>>109598049
i switch back to searx-ng
