Is this a good way to experience EC/Topre switches? I found it for 40 bucks but then again Topre is so expensive it might probably be a good way to see if it's worth it.
>>109598443>$40 for buttons you already have

>>109598532did you get graped by a num pad?

>>109598532They're not the same, though. That's why you have another set bellow them.

i'd say the old thinkpad keyboards (pre-2012) are pretty similar, i knew after using my x220 that i wanted to try topre and it was completely worth it. imo you should just buy a silenced hhkb from somewhere that has a return policy and try the peak form for yourselft. have spent over $1k on topre boards / keycaps / etc
>>109598867They don't sell any Topre where I live, importing is the only way. But I did try a bunch of Thinkpads from this era so that's good to know.
>>109598969if you wanna gamble, you can try importing a used boardor if you take a trip you can buy a used one for 45-60 bucks
>>109598699i only use a single one of each of those. thus the additional keys are redundant.
>>109601098They're also not redundant if you can use VIA.
>>109598622What kind of deranged keyboard layout has caps lock but not esc
topres are mad overrated, i bought a realforce a decade ago and it was so unremarkable i don't even remember what i did with it. maybe i threw it out when i moved
>>109598532>mental gymnastics to justify an incomplete keyboard. You must love your brand daddies so much uwu
>>109601450Things get very silly once you reach bellow 60% keyboards.
>>109601631It is genuinely one of those things that you either love it or hate it. I've seen people coming back to it every time they got something different. Part of it because of the hhkb layout as well.
Spend 150 bucks on a niz plum board and then swap out the domes if the low weight ones aren't tactile enough for you.
