Best laptop I've ever owned is an hp elite book. Went with the 645 g11. The refurbisher who sold it to me was a dumb ass because the machine has 32gb of ram and I bought it for 350$ late last year.
Fucked up the keyboard and spent an after noon replacing. Was so much easier to fix than my my previous gayming laptops.

It should be fine for an everyday laptop.
Although I would personally go for the 5 or X on sale since those can be equip with an OLED display.
