Why is it so hard to jailbreak the Xbox One and Series X?
>>1096009123ds was locked down tight for years since launch and was only cracked wide open by a single freetard autist because he wanted to run his freetard code on it, he didn't care about piracy at allms just took freetards out of the equation by giving them their dev mode out of the boxfpbp/thread
>>109600912The Xbox is just a cucked PC so what's the point? You can pretty much play all its exclusives elsewhere.
>>109600912PS3 was sold as Linux-compatible machine for a while to dodge EU gayming tax so it's free for all since day 1.Xbox has what, Gaylo? Tears of War?
iirc they hired some of the germans that worked on xbox 360 hacks/free60/etc to help secure italso dev mode made it kinda pointless besides piracy
>>109600912Its not. Its that it has no games worth pirating
>>109600989>fpbp>/threadFPWP.Thread starts here.----
because no one cares about the one or X
>>109600912piracy and homebrew are no longer worth it since it's just a bad pc and any "homebrew" you would use is already a feature. the x in xbox is literally just for DirectX btw
>>109601182>piracy and homebrew are no longer worth it since it's just a bad pcSo are the PS4 and PS5 yet they've both been hacked.
>>109601210those have exclusives and exposed credit card information sometimes THOUGH
>>109601112Its the perfect security system. The unhackable system if the offline power off brick.
>>109600989>>109601073>>109601134>muh dev modeThat doesn't explain why it hasn't been jailbroken
>>109601241either no one wants to do it or it turns out it's hard to do it. probably both. simple as
>>109601241they hired the hackers ;)
>>10960124199% of jailbreaking has historically been done by freetard autists, not by piratesms eliminated the freetard threat by letting freetards have their tinkertranny mode without hacking the hardware open
>>109600912Because it runs Windows under the hood. You break it, you get lawyers worse than Nintendo after your skinny ass. It's easier to pirate games for the PC instead.
Is there any reason at all for someone to buy an Xbox and use it as a PC with the dev mode instead?
>>109600912There is just no need to. All games for the series X also run on PC. For anything else there is Dev mode. Maybe someone is sitting on an exploit for when GTA 6 launches. Who knows.
>>109601273theres a half decent gpu in it for a bargain price, i guess? people used to buy PS3s in bulk for similar reasons and mine bitcoins on em
>>109600912No incentive.
>>109600989This. Also also nobody cared enough about Xbox One exclusives to modchip or hack it.
Same reason /g/ can't make an exhentai CLI upload toolincompetence
Even if you managed to find an exploit, the games are run in a secure virtual machine, separated from the main operating system. Xbox OS is powered by Windows 11 and unbreakable as of 2026. Microsoft are constantly updating it to harden it further.
specs are good used search engine to ask about it it is apparently possible to request sort of developer licence from MS to install other os
>>109603038feel free to suffer through cuckflare challenges and any other bot mitigations as you try to write your CLI tool
>>109603038You said you vibeslopped this in another thread so you didnt actually make anything
>>109600912For things to be hackable there needs to be incentiveNobody has found any incentive to hack them. That is all.
>>109603099take your meds schizo
Does it have exclusives
>>109600989fpbp/thread
>>109600912My Series X literally can't do anything unless connected to MS' servers. It becomes a worthless paperweight. Hacking it makes zero sense because it won't do anything offline.
>>109601241jailbreak it for what gain? no games
>>109600989/thread
>>109601241>That doesn't explain why it hasn't been jailbrokenJailbreaks are usually made for the sake of games preservation and with Xbone there's nothing to preserve, besides Halo 5, Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Motorsport 5/6.
>>1096012411. No exclusive games2. the DRM in Xbox One is very hard to break, the Microsoft Pluton chip is basically a TPM module3. Xbox One is just a locked down PCThese are the main reasons why there really isn't much interest in jailbreking Xbox One
>>109600912It's not "hard", it's just that nobody cares about Xbox. You have a reason to hack Nintendo and Sony.GAMES AMES
>>109600912I watched one of the developers talk about this on youtube years ago and it's actually impressive to what they did to lock it down so hard.Essentially the decryption keys are stored in hardware which does the decryption, it's directly stored in silicon and the tools to read them out are out of reach for most people. As far as I understand, the cpu will also refuse to execute any code that hasn't been verified by that tpm.Any keys that get leaked will get invalidated centrally and with the next update they will be useless as the entire game will be re-encrypted and pushed to all Xboxes with a new key.The Xbox One is an exercise in dystopian computer design and Windows might be going down this path in the not so far future. This is well worth watching if this topic interested you.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7VwtOrwceo
>>109606700>It's not "hard"Watch >>109606772 and let us know if it isn't hard to bread.
>>109606794Someone very autistic with a LLM could break this someday. Nobody cares about Xbox. Not worth the effort.
>>109603518>My Series X literally can't do anything unless connected to MS' servers. It becomes a worthless paperweight. Hacking it makes zero sense because it won't do anything offline. No, that makes it even more worth hacking.
>>109606815>Someone very autistic with a LLM could break this someday. Nobody cares about Xbox. Not worth the effort.Sour grapes. You can't hack it.A very narrow group of oldest editions has been "theoretically" been hacked. There is no foreign software reliably running on it, yet.
>>109607045link to evox theme
>>109606772>the entire game will be re-encrypted and pushed to all Xboxes with a new key.there is no way microsoft would be able to achieve this for every single title and every single xboxplenty of jailbreaks have been "patched" like this before and you end up with a market for unpatched consolesthat said it does seem difficult to circumvent, but that doesn't surprise me. most every jailbreak in the past has relied on exploiting hardware outside the cpu, or some oversight in implementation (the infamously weak ps3 key comes to mind). if you limit options for #1 via hardware design then that only leaves #2. finding mistakes in microsoft's code or hardware is certainly possible but they seem to be banking on the tools to do so being out of reach for the average hacker.
>>109606772im pretty sure the switch was designed the same way. bootloader exploit and then later glitch chips just allowed the keys to be dumped from the cpu. im sure if anyone cared enoguh there would probably be a glitch chip for the xbox that could do the same
>>109607045>Sour grapesThere is literally no grapes
>>109600989thistbhfamnearly all console hacks were because of some autistic freetard that wanted to run doom on X devicexbox one let freetards compile and run doom from day 1 and completely wiped out all incentives to try and hack it openthe pirates that latch on to hacks that freetards find are just profiteering script kiddies, they're interested in money, not spending years of their lives tinkertrannying at hardwareand why spend all the time and money when a freetard does it for free?
>>109608067>>109607062Because it IS that hard to hack it, just watch the Bliss hack demonstration, it’s like 100x harder than the 360 RGH due to having to chain two successful glitches in a row.
>>109601241everyone would rather use PC than jailbreak a glorified netflix machine
>>109608085freetards live for the challenge of cracking open hardware to run their tinkertranny codethere's no challenge on xbone
I wonder if apple stole this from them or the other way around? iPhones have been unhackable since the 11+ (2019). The xbox one claims to have been unhackable since 2013.
>>109606772>>109607080Most of them already work like this, the XB1 did some unique things iirc but the concepts are not new.
