So what's a good alternative to a small, easy to use MP3 that's just an MP3. The best of the best doesn't make them anymore
>>
Get this; it's called a cellular phone.
>>
>>109600933
can't you just get a walkman or something
>>
>>109601010
To big and bounces against my dick as I'm running
>>109601023
That'd have the same issue
>>
>>109600933
places still make these, you can buy em online

10 seconds on amazon got me 8 gorillion knockoff ipod nanos like i had as a kid and they're all around 40$
>>
>>109601161
They look right but checking the reviews say they have issues. Either being overly complicated to do simple things like pausing or having difficulties connecting to USB. I was hoping people here knew a specific one that was good.
>>
>>109601185
i had one as a kid and yeah it was shit
>usually a 1/16 jack, glhf finding headphones for it locally
>buttons were usually shit
>bad capacity
>mediocre sound chips
>had to go through a menu to mount it properly
>used some version of USB i only learned in my 30s was and might still be popular in east asia
but for 40$... also you can just go a few pages deep on amazon or w/e instead of being a thread sliding sourcenigger incapable of using the internet by himself
>>
>>109601185
they're all literally the same, seriously they use that one chip from that one company with the software also provided by said company.
>>
>>109600933
I have a surfans f20. It's alright. It's about the size of an ipod classic
>>
>>109601147
use a watch, or get a smaller phone, it's gotta be big to hit such a small clitty

The best mp3 player of all time is this.
>>
>>109601295
the modding scene from those days was sick as fuck, that software was crusty as hell but surprisingly capable for a chinked up early 00s mp3 player
>>
>>109601497
not sure what kind of "modding" you can meaningfully do on a chip with only a 8051 and every notable function as a fixed function block but ok.
>>

here are most popular cheap ones made by somewhat "reputable" chink brands, alsto there is lot of cheap slop on amazon and alibaba probably not worth ur money
>>
>>109601837
you could play shitty phone games on some of them. it sounds lame but keep in mind that i had one as a literal child in like 2005 and didnt own a gameboy
>>
>>109601359
me too, it's fine. I like it a lot, but sometimes firmware pisses me off.
My daughter has SnowSky/FiiO Echo MINI, she doesn't complain. it's nice little fellow.

FiiO SnowSky ECHO NANO
>no bluetooth
>but it supports inline controls
>battery lasts 6 hours with only flac files
>but it has a knob

I bought one of these that was well rated on amazon for my mother. She's usually painfully tech illiterate. Has no problem operating it, very simple to use and reasonable quality sound

stop larping and just use your phone. no, you won't get any superpowers by using obsolete offline tech.

If you separate tech by online/offline, then I am so sorry.
>>
>>109601010
I have the >>109600933 pic related player, at least an earlier version, and while the sound isn't great, the big advantage is they're cheap, extremely compact, and have actual physical buttons, so you can operate (e.g., fast forward, rewind, volume up/down, next/previous song) without even looking at it once you get a feel for it.
>>
>>109601147
just use an ipod. if you need to use it while running get those little ipod shuffles and clip it to your shirt or nips or dick or whatever. you can find them for free or pay 15 bucks for them at the flea market
don't buy these chinkshit things that are just copying an ipod its very strange.
>>
>>109601959
Does 'custom eq' mean parametric eq?

I'm baffled so few mp3 players had that.
I'm still using my 16 year old clip+ with rockbox for that.
>>
>>109603582
Most of modern DAPs and pocketable amps and dongles have this, it's like one of main selling points nowdays, especially when headphone and iem measurements are so mainstream in audio hobby

>Custom EQ only supports 5 bands fixed frequency, which are 100, 300, 1K, 3K, 10K
in this case it's the same useless shit as always
>>
>>109601459
It uses a cheap ass audio jack connector. If you aren't careful it will break. I kept it in my pocket while doing squats and it broke. A portable music player that cant handle everyday activity is a waste of money (imo).
>>
>>109603832
Yeah squats sure is an "everyday activity"
>>
I have an innioasis Y1 that I use with rockbox. The Dev who makes the rockbox port decided to make the bootup logo a trans flag so every release I have to pull the source and recompile it without the stupid anal sex flag, but its worth it. Its got Bluetooth and a speaker also, and it looks like a 3rd gen iPod nano. Its a great little player.
