People on Reddit & Twitter are hyped that Windows 11 is getting this brand NEW feature in the upcoming week.
Thoughts?

I’m not X or Reddit and I’m excited too. Trying to get as many people on Linux as possible because Microsoft is watching and improving their product in response.
>>
Taskbar position a new feature?
Almost all Windows versions had this
>>
>>109603645
Not according to Reddit & X, this is brand new, and Windows is so back!
>>
>>109603618
Linux had nothing to do with it, it's all because of Apple MacBook Neo.

Winjeet 10 then winjeet 11 are cloning KDE but making it 10.000 times slower.
>>
>>109603645
It was removed in Windows 11 and is being added in the next update
>>
>>109603606
In Windows you could always just drag the taskbar around to position it effortlessly. Also resize it.
>>
>>109603678
True! Neo can run on 8gb RAM. Neo doesn’t need my help like Linux does though.
>>
Fun facts about this re-addition;
- you can only enable small taskbar on top or bottom, not on the sides
- you can only use auto-hide taskbar on bottom, the rest is not supported
- you cannot just drag it like you could even back in 2009, only adjustable via buttons that lag and have a delay

Oh also forgot to say that those little dots below open apps don't even adjust, if you set it to the top, the dots are below as if it were on the bottom, if you set it to the right the dots are to the left, you can see it in picrel next to Settings.

Ive had this for years with stardock on Windows 10
>>

It's surprising that marketing and designers managed hijack all ms products, yet fail with basic UI, they actually had in older products.
>>
>>109604135
My dude W10 has it native, so does every other version of Windows below 10.
>>
>>109603692
So it's not
>brand NEW
then, is it?
>>
>>109603901
Windows 11 29H2 will fix this, trust the plan.
>>
>>109604176
Nepotism put a vagina with no qualifications in coding or UI design in charge of W11 UI.

>Do whatever KDE does but years later and a lot shittier

I'm reading this from fedora right now and honestly, does sound appealing... it's one of the reasons I left initially, I hate the bar at the bottom I feel that's the stupidest idea ever, like that's where your eyesight is usually at and you are wasting that precious real estate with static content
>>
>>109603606
Linux and MacOS absolutely dead after this Microsoft update
>>
>>109603687

Holy fuck winjeet desktop is lagging behind, this feature was in already in Gnome 2.
>>
>remove features due to >muhvision and lack of use cases
>quietly reverse your decision
>people cream the pants
amazing

Show one person saying this
>>
People who pin their task bar to the left are psychopaths, but I can at least understand the logic.
What can never abide is that the start button goes to the top

It can work if you're able to drag a maximized window from an empty space on a top panel, and/or with a global menu like macos/kde
otherwise it's indeed just painful
>>
>>109604515
it is if you rewrite history in 1984 style.
In fact if you do this you can remove all features and add them one by one as "new". Who knows how many cycles we have gone through already? We've been had.

You've been able to do this with programs like StartAllBack

Glad this is seeing a wider rollout

I didn't even finish what I mean to post.
If your taskbar is pinned to the left, the start button should be in the bottom right. I guess it doesn't matter now since it's centered

On the left of main monitor because it is in the center of ALL my monitors.
Right seems insane to me because I am from a left-to-right reading country so I naturally start from top left corner
