>$3000 Asus laptop died today (not even bios) only 2 months after warranty expired
>turn it on, fans spin like crazy but nothing ever happens or boots, not even bios
>haven't done shit with the laptop, no new updates or anything, worked yesterday, doesn't work today
>>

It's almost like these are exactly designed to break at the right moment.

I will never use mac OS, most software that I use doesn't run on it nor on linux
>>

Be specific
You should try it, though
It's linux that just works
>>
>>109606858
I have tried it in the past for a year actually.

Get yourself an enterprise laptop. however it doesn't save you form the eventual moment your fan/heatsink will stop working properly. Atleast you can replace it.

Buy another one, return old one as defective. Make sure to swap serial stickers. If it won't even boot to bios then they'll have no way to check it (not that the $16/h scamazon wagie working returns that day will know or care or be allowed to).

If the following apply:
>Warranty is less than 3 years
>You can get a copy of the warranty proving this
>You bought the laptop in full with a Visa or Mastercard
You might have an extra year of warranty through something called "Purchase Security" or "Purchase Protection." If you have it, VISA/MC will reimburse you up to the total amount you charged to their card. I've used it multiple times over the years to get things repaired.

You can read more about it here:

no, I'm sure they can read it out

if youre too lazy to dissemble the laptop then this thread is lame and pointless

Stock liquid metal laptop?
>>
>>109606780
>$3k laptop
I don't understand why people do this. You get a laptop to have something portable, if you need to do heavy computing you ssh into the big machine.

Fucking retards buying 15 inch paving stones with discrete GPUs.

It was probably a liquid metal leak. Many such cases!
