Pack it up. Linux is finished.>due to the current DRAM/eMMC shortage, there isn't any plans to continue producing more Linux devices>Just pre-warning everyone in case people start asking when things are going to be in stock again.>That's it for this post, all in all it's a bit bleak for the Linux deviceshttps://t.me/s/PINE64_News
>>109611781based. Entire industry BTFO by 2 basedcucks. HAHAHAHA HOW WILL YOU EVER RECOVER???
>t.mepost non-schizo link
You know the data centres are all running Debian, right?
>>109611781I bought their PineBook Pro, it was a piece of shit. But it was a cool piece of shit. Wish they would have kept iterating on that and making it better.
>>109612522A) no they're notB) why should i feel better if jew vampires are the only ones who get to use it?
>>109612790It feels like they just hit the end of the road. They just came out with random chink devices to see if they could Tom Sawyer other people into doing all the real work. But now the maker psyop is over and it's all thirdies with AI.
>>109611781Fuck bro I check their site like once per month to see if they're in stock.
>>109611781>business model centered around hardware only and crowdsourcing software>hardware is shitI don't really get the point. I bought a pinecil mostly because there's pretty much no software support needed. Pinecube was cool but never took off, pinetab and pinebook are pretty shit, pine note seems ok for an eink device but with their hardware reputation I won't drop $500 for a device 5 years behind the market AND I have to write my own software for.
>>109614097>pinecilTheir only good product.>pinecubeGood quality PoE cams already exist.
i guess used dell 8th gen business lappy will be my new linux machine
>>109614097I got a bunch of rock64s, they're niceI can boot them without blobsI even build my own blob free ARM trusted firmware for themquad core, 4gbs ram, lima gpu driversI had a stack of six because that was the minimum for a kubernetes clusterone has gone kerput tho and now I can't get another and my cluster collects dust
>>109616641I only got far enough with them to patch u-boot to fix that bug where the screen spazzes out when the device experiences heavy I/O. I think they used sketchy RAM though because it was only really stable when I patched u-boot again to run at a slower speed than the default.I've yet to have it boot standard debian though and probably wouldn't want to because the usb3 port does not work well or at all on vanilla debian.
>>109611781Honestly it’s not my problem, and to be fair AI is more important than those weird hobbyist devicesSo nothing of value was lost, snailoids can keep crying
The Pinebook Pro was an ARM Laptop that came out before Apple Silicon.
>>109612965>>109611781>>109611800>They just came out with random chink devices to see if they could Tom Sawyer other people into doing all the real work. This lolI haven't checked on them in years and they're still on the line phone pro. Last I checked it didn't even have working video recording. What sbc to get that has good video encoding? Looking to make high quality security cameras. The new Jetson and rpis don't even have encoders
If you need a cheap little low power linux device, install linuxdeploy on an old android phone
>>109617757I have one but i never used it because the display was killing my eyesight
