How much does your Dream PC cost?
Mine costs $7,850.

What about you, /g/?
>>
>>109612627
My current setup is €7000 total, built two years ago, pretty happy with it.
Dream? Nah but as a NEET best I can do.

Why are you paying $7850 anon? For just $19.99 a month you can own a 5080 in the cloud, seems like the most reasonable option to me
>>
$8000 for shit that gets obsolete in 2 years

I can get 2 Focal Utopias for that money.
>>
>>109612627
Over 9000.

I don't know, my PC is like the Ship of Theseus. It gets constantly upgraded, some of the older parts of it are over a decade old at this point but all the essential hardware is quite modern still (7950X3D, 64GB RAM and a 4090). Currently I don't feel any need to upgrade at all, everything I do works well, including the most demanding games I play. That 4090 back in 2022 was a very good buy despite also being the most expensive graphics card I ever bought.
>>
>>109613096
I need a 9950X3D. You suck.
>>
>>109613096
the rtx4090 aged well because rtx5000 is just plain bad. the 5080 is slower than the 4090...

200€

I didn't even know GDDR7 exists. Hardware is so fucking boring
>>
I built mine for about $2300, don't really care about training or fine-tuning stuff outside of work so it is more than enough.
>>
>>109612627
buying ONLY mobo, cpu and ram 12k bong bucks (~16k US)
and that's staying at the same core count and ram amount
>>

>What about you, /g/?
no one makes stuff I want, the one I have was about 3k it's fine I'm content with it
>>
>>109612627
However much double rtx 6000 costs, so my dream pc went from like 10k to 25ish in the last year
Fairly happy with my current one tho
>>
>>109613071
Shove it
>>
>>109612627
$1300 desktop, $1000 for a brand new stinkpad.
Couldn't be happier.

A client paid for my setup in exchange for a year of support. It was a good deal.
>>
One that's powerful and efficient but also quiet. That final part seems hard.

Is this the new trend?

I find for me going to 240hz to not offer ME anything. Not that it doesn't look smoother, but it smears for me. I find 180 to be the sweet spot.

why not manifest it instead and take inspired action? why be a slave? there's better ways bro.

My dream PC would be a custom machined case in the shape of an X68000 Z modded so you have an SFF mainboard in one of the sides and a fairly high end GPU pcb (like just the PCB from a 5090) in the other connected over a PCIe 16x ribbon in the base.
Most of the internals of the unit would essentially be custom heatsinks and heatpipes.

So hard to tell how much it'll cost. You can get machined parts for surprisingly little from shops like JLCPCB these days but it'd probably take a while to design and assemble.
>>
>>109612627
About $45k right now. Fucking insane.
>>
>>109618962
The airflow and heatsinks would be the real nightmare here. I wouldn't machine out a shape like that, it'd make more sense to bend some sheet metal and it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper. Maybe weld in some pipe sections for the indents. The base can just be 3D printed and painted.
>>
My dream pc? I'd need enough money to buy all the companies that make the hardware so they can make it to my specifications

About €4000 aparently:
-4x Xeon E7-4890 v2 CPUs (60cores @ 3GHz)
-1TB of DDR3
-2x Titan RTX GPUs with NVLink Bridge
-4x 2TB WD Black HDDs
-as many Noctua Fans required to keep it cool

and for OS, TempleOS ;)))

the power bill will kill me, but it's a worthy sacrifice for such a beast
