This is a myth and pure cope. Someone installed Windows 10 on my uncles's PC with 2GB of ram. It took 45 minutes to boot and wouldn't EVER stop trashing the hard drive. It was completely unusable. "Modern" Windows genuinely needs absurd amounts of RAM just to boot.
Put windows 7 on the same PC and that boots in 30 seconds on that same machine, and ran just fine even with modern browsers (ff115esr).
You do not hate modern windows enough.

You need both more ram and an SSD to run windows 10.
And it would still likely run worse than Windows 7 does from a HDD. There is nothing that can justify that.
Btw he lives in a country under sanctions so purchasing or smuggling any components to him wasn't really something I wanted to try. Installing Windows7 solved all the issues anyway.

My mom's laptop came with windows 11 and 4gb of ram. That garbage uses literally ALL the fucking ram and sometimes resets the desktop for her, blinking the screen and freezing everything and because of that she thinks it has a virus... While my pc can't have windows 11 because it doesn't have TPM... I'm almost replacing her OS for some linux because no matter what i do to debloat that garbage system doesn't free that extra ram.
