I don't know how but somehow FreeBSD manages to have both a worse network stack and worse memory management than even fucking macOS. When TrueNAS switched to Linux it made it work so much better.

SGI Indy is back (not official yet but it's back) and IIRC somebody got the old Mac 68k port working too.Bell ported Plan9 to like 30 architectures, literally everything they could lay their hands on back then. These ancient ports still work and boot if you can find the hardware of course, and cross compiling is super easy so it's lower effort than say, using something new that has a modern Clang or GCC as a requirement.It's a great system, just no modern web.
