>I can’t design a bridge.>I can’t build a load bearing structure.>I can’t repair a power generator.>I can’t design an engine.>I can’t calculate fluid dynamics.>I can make something that only works on my computer.I am a software engineer.
>>109618903it also works on the computer of the other engineers, making their job efficient or feasible at all
neither can an electrical engineer
>>109618903>I can make something that only works on my computer.skill issue>>109618903>I am a software engineer.you're a code monkey
>>109618903>>I can’t design an engine.anybody can design an engine of some kind it won't be production ready or competitive but you can cobble together a simple two stroke in a shed so long as you have a lathe and a mill and a handbook from the 1930s
>>109618964>actually I could make an engineno you cant
>>109618903>I can make something that only works on my computer.99.999999999% of the population can't even do that
>>109618990Copium
I have seen electrical engineers who cannot even hook up an air conditioner in their own home
>>109618972You can’t.
"Software engineer" always sounded like such an oxymoron to me.We should go back to calling the people who do the theory mathematicians and the people who implement the theory programmers. This won't catch on though because the term software engineer only exists so that JavaSlop monkeys can have an inflated sense of self worth.
>>109619079I’m just lazy. I paid someone to do it for me.
>>109619104When you hear big terms being thrown around, the paycheck is smol.
