They have to first figure out how to match or best aspects of human performance with the same terms. Multiple contests and efforts exist to match or beat humans in specific contest conditions. The next step is to combine different human-equal or superior abilities into one package, and after that has been done move into integrating more and more into one package until you have a robot that is capable of doing work like a human or better than a human.To be able to make a real humanoid robot equal to a human in physical capability, you have to first master different aspects so you can start to combine things. You can't just start combining abilities into one package if those abilities can't match or beat a human. Maybe this takes 50 years or 100 years but it's much later when the work pays off.The goal is to replace jeets with robots, all we have to do is make sure we have good walls so they can't get in after they are made redundant.
